Texans defense is a pile of crap, but how come I haven’t seen Robinson do that nifty slip maneuver all year? And Mitch throwing where the pressure is coming from?

...and play calls that make sense?

Most of the time I don’t even notice the names of people on the special-teams unit. But today Woods has been in on several nice kick coverage plays.

This team is bad at tanking

This game was the most important to lose for draft order purposes and the least important to win for playoff chances.

What are the Bears' playoff chances now? 25%?

The Football Aftershow debated which situation you would rather be in: the Bears with a defense, a run game, but no QB or the Texans with a good LT and a great QB but don't have their first and second round picks next year. The Aftershow said the Bears, but I don't see how you can say that. You can't win without a good QB and the Bears don't have one.

You can win without a good QB and teams do it all the time. You can’t win consistently for multiple years without a good QB, that’s not the same thing.

Trubiskys passer rating up to 94.5

Where would he have to end the year for you to feel comfortable trying to resign him? I'd say 95

Only if he plays great the rest of the way out, the Bears win out, they make the playoffs, and they win two playoff games.

Only Sid Luckman in 1945 and MCown’s hot stretch in 2013 are only better seasons for QB rating.

I think if he finishes 95 or higher, he's good enough to carry forward regardless of their record. It would open up the 1st rd pick to all kinds of options like WR and OT, and you could still take a QB in the 2,3, or later rounds as insurance

He’s been playing against garbage defenses

true, but what if he hits 100 and they miss the playoffs? I'd agree, he has to play well against garbage defenses, but I think the bigger change has been the playcalling

Mahomes threw 3 picks, Watson had a couple of turnovers and Trubisky had a 126.7 QB rating today.

Pace vindicated.

Absolutely. Sure, the Chiefs have a ring, but at what cost? At what cooost?

Not to be lost in today's game....the Bears didnt get into the end zone in the 2nd half.

Also, Montgomery took his first carry 80 yards and only had 8 more carries until the final draft.

I'm less concerned they didn't score a TD in the 2nd and more thrilled that the D held Houston to 0 points in the second half. They were up by 23 at half.

After that 80 yard run, Monty became the decoy. They ran a ton of play-action in the second quarter and Houston had to respect Monty which left their terrible pass D exposed

Well absolutely terrible day for the Bears draft pick hopes and I don’t think their playoff odds got much better either. All 3 current WC teams won, but the Vikings did lose which helps since they currently have the tiebreaker over us.

I’m glad they looked good I guess but we are in NFL hell I guess. I wouldn’t care nearly as much about our draft pick if we had the QB, but since we don’t we’re not bad enough to get a high pick and we’re not good enough to make the playoffs. Also concerned with a decent finish does to our cleaning house

I'm not sure NFL hell really exists like it does in basketball.

It may be that I'm just in general very emotionally detached from the Bears these days, but I just don't care. The draft slot between 8 and like 15 isn't gonna end up being the difference maker.

Was bound to happen. The Texans aren't very good, and the Bears aren't "lose 10 straight" bad. They also have at least 1 more win coming too as the Jags aren't even trying.
