Really enjoyed how animated JD got in the 9th. While there's a lot about this org that truly sucks the guys in the booth are so so so good

The ump called 2 or 3 strikes as balls for Mills in the 9th. I mean I'm not asking for a vintage Maddux zone but why the hell are you squeezing a dude with a no hitter going in a 12 run game?

Pretty amazing thing for Mills. I wouldn't have had him in the top 5 starting pitchers likely to toss a no-no this year, good for him.

theo has gotten a lot of horsefeathers over the last few years (from me included), but it's kind of impressive that we're still somehow a goodish team after ownership completely cut off spending for the last 2 offseasons Edited by 17 Seconds

Lol 3-page game thread for no hitter

football

seriously though, I didn't hear about the no hitter until after the Bears game was over

and I have most of my app notifications turned off (besides messaging) to prevent phone addiction.

Yeah, football and it's a weekend day game. Even if this was a Thursday evening game going against Thursday night football or the same on Sunday night, I bet it would have been a longer thread. Plus how many people tuned out of the game when it was 9-0 after 4 1/2 without even realizing a no-hitter was happening.

Same. I thought it was a joke. Someone needs to come to the football thread to let us know next time

Saw a couple of quotes from Javy excited to be a part of a no hitter, I would have never guessed he didn't play in either of Jake's. 2015 he wasn't up, and 2016 he was recently called up but didn't play that game.

Ha, they cut to the studio guy who carefully avoided mentioning the no-hitter - as soon as they went back, Len proclaimed it loud and clear.

that's what it takes to throw a no-hitter for a Mills.

I watched the majority of the game - dozed a bit in the middle innings - but I don't remember a single ball that I thought - oh my god that's going to be a hit. Were there any great defensive plays? I don't remember any. The closest to a hit - I think - was when Javy waited back on ball hit by Garcia and then just nipped him at 1st. Mills certainly wasn't dominating in the traditional sense it just seemed like everything was a routine fly ball or a 2 hopper to an infielder.

There was one hit to Happ that he had to get a good break on to catch 5 feet short of the warning track in...I want to say the 4th
