I was thinking this as well. I have really liked the 30 man roster when combined with the 3 batter minimum. We're seeing teams have real benches again, and because of the three batter rule there hasn't been a stupid number of relievers. Maybe 28 is better, to make sure there is still incentive to have starters regularly go 5+, but I just generally like the expanded roster.

NEW YORK—Incredulous that all his work could be for nothing, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred told reporters Wednesday he was frustrated the season is already falling apart despite all the energy he put into wishing it wouldn’t. “I concentrated super hard, squeezed my eyes shut tight, and wished that the MLB season would turn out well, and yet things are still not working out,” said Manfred, who claimed he was in hundreds of meetings with top MLB executives over the past months outlining detailed hopes and prayers they had for a smooth and safe 2020 season. “Nobody talked about keeping players safe harder than me this year. It almost feels like this was going to backfire no matter how much I repeated ‘This will be okay.’ I always believed in the power of coming into work and wanting something real bad every day, but I fell short this time. I just wish I knew what to wish for to stop this.” At press time, Manfred announced a new quarantine plan to fine players $100,000 for contracting coronavirus.

Seems smart, though I’d prefer a Texas site (Houston/Dallas), Phoenix, or Miami along with LA sites/SD to Chicago and NY given the potential bad weather and all the non Cali teams have domes. Doing 2 sites 1 for AL, 1 for NL also would make sense. Especially if one is out East and 1 is out West for TV with expanded playoffs.

Does a bubble playoff scenario allow the regular season to go longer than currently scheduled, if needed? Or are they still set on everything being done by November.

You would think there would need to be a quarantine break between the regular season and playoffs

I’m confused...so they are getting test results mid-game now?

If you’ll recall, Senzel missed a few games the first week of the season because he was said to be ill, but tested negative for COVID. Given that it’s been 3 weeks it’s probably just a coincidence but still interesting.
