Maddux is number 1 by a mile. From the Hendry era obviously Lee and Ramirez are tops. Prior and Wood too.

Rich Harden weirdly stands out as well, his second half of 2008 was just the coolest.

From this era probably Willson, Javy, Dex, and Hendricks. Yu's probably my favorite right at this moment, but he needs to be produce for longer for him to be a guy I really look back on and think about.

i was so close to naming harden and felt stupid and didn't

1. Maddux

2. Hendricks

Yes, I have a “type.”

3. Javy

4. Aramis

5 and rising fast. Yu

So many others... Rick Reuschel - maybe the first Cub I remember, Jody, Lee Arthur Smith, Hawk, Sutcliffe, Kerry, GlenAllen Hill for the random monster bombs, Big Z, Bryzzo, Schwarbs, God-mode Jake, Wade Davis.

Random player I loved that wasn’t any good, but I loved him anyway: Steve Buechele, decent glove, no bat third baseman.

Ambiguous feels: Aroldis Chapman was one of my favorite non-Cubs and then the DV occurred and I put him on my “pay no mind” list, and then the Cubs acquired him and won the WS. I have mixed feeling about that, at best.

Didn't become a Cubs fan until 1993, so Sosa was my first big favorite.

Also, INPO:

Zambrano

Wood

Aramis

Javy

Bryant

Rizzo

Some of you are NOT listing Castro, and you are liars

Since I'm an old-timer:

Banks

Santo

Williams

Dawson

Sandberg

Maddux

Jenkins

Buckner

Ramirez

Wood

Sosa

Grace

Not a single player from the greatest stretch of Cubs baseball ever who was either developed or acquired under Theo.list>

Yep, checks out.

Most of these guys were the ones who made me a fan. Obviously, I have different favorites through the many decades that I have rooted for the Cubs. Right now, I really like Baez, Rizzo, and Bryant.

RE Hundley: It really is something that the son of a key Cub from one of the greatest teams in the modern era was being booed at Wrigley mercilessly halfway through his first season in Chicago.

On the topic of least favorite Cubs, I was looking for the one where Jeff Fassero played the role of Brooks from Shawshank Redemption, but I couldn't find it. Instead, you get these two:

I find most of my least favorites are more from my adult years. In my childhood innocence, I liked them all.

My least favorites would probably be:

Neifi Perez

Dusty Baker (Can I count him?)

Jeff Samardzija

Steve Stone

If we're ignoring the Addison Russell category of personal scumbags, then there's only one guy that reigns supreme in the least-favorite category. I absolutely horsefeathering despised Aaron Miles. At that time my hatred for St. Louis was at an all-time high and I couldn't believe Hendry was dumb enough to sign a post-prime guy who wasn't even good when he was good just because he'd gotten a hold of the pixie dust for a year or two.

Edwin Jackson would be #2 on that list and LaTroy Hawkins #3.
