You put him on the Bears ... and he might have another run.

Id be willing to give that a chance, but can Tom Beady run an RPO?

He's old and has regressed quite a bit but, he'd probably be an upgrade from Mitch and, shockingly, he'd have a lot more weapons around him with the Bears than he had in NE.

Wonder how many other 13+ win teams A) had to play in a wild card game and B) lost it.

Unless I missed one no 13-3 team has played on WC weekend under the current 8 division format. Last one was Tennessee in 1999 but they were a WC team.

Nope. The last time it happened was in 2011...where the Saints went 13-3, but got the 3 seed behind...the Packers and 49ers...

Yep, just read that. They won that game though. Also says they’re the third team to go 13-3 and not get a bye. Don’t know if that’s just division winners or any playoff team though.

I hope Sean Payton is taking a ton of horsefeathers for that comical clock management

Seriously. I did not agree with the 10 second run off to save the TO but whatever. Why do you kick it with 7 seconds left and that TO still out there? With Drew Brees at QB. Let him put one in the corner of the end zone. If he gets sacked you use the TO albeit with a harder FGA but to me the risk is worth it.

Call your last timeout on 4th down with 246 to go rather than forfeit the 2 minute warning with a 9 yard punt return

Agree, he was content to play for the tie, why not let Brees go for the win?

I think I'm rooting for Seattle and Minnesota next weekend. I really like when highly unusual circumstances occur in sports, and a Wild Card team hosting a playoff game is pretty damn unusual...never happened before.

7 seconds isn't really enough time to take another shot at the endzone from that distance

Maybe try to pick up a few yards for an easier FG? I know they made the 49 yarder but I’m sure the kicker wouldn’t have minded getting that down into the 30’s if possible.

Winning a playoff game on the road where your QB throws for less than 100 yards certainly is something. It's happened 13 times in the SB era (9 times on gross passing yds, an additional 4 times on net passing yds, which is how pfr classifies it)

Doing it twice is REALLY something. The only other team to do it twice in a year was the 85 Patriots, who did it once on gross yards, once on net. Titans have done each on gross yards.

A fun one from that list...

2000 Ravens vs Titans. Ravens had 85 net passing yards, but only 49 rushing yards. They added a blocked FG returns TD and a INT Return TD for a 24-10 victory against a 300+ yard effort from the Titans. Odd Stat line.

So it appears you can win in today's NFL by bludgeoning your opponent on the ground.

Henry has 1275 yards in his last 8 games.

There is really something to be said about the wear and tear of the NFL season. Henry had nearly 600 yards in his last 4 games last season. It's truly a weapon to have a 260lb RB in December and January when defenses have played several hundred physical snaps.
