I didn't mind it as much today. Yu did great, but was having to grind it out more and more, and the all-lefty heart of the Brewers' lineup was due up. In theory, that's the ideal time to use Holland...in theory.

 

Thought Brewers might put in Braun for Thames especially after Yelich reached and Moustakas is pretty neutral at least this year. But Counsell let it play out! Glad it worked out for the Cubs and Holland.

Yeah I would guess he gets the fifth starter spot next year to open the year.

 

I also would think he's done enough to be fairly easy to trade this winter, though with Montgomery also gone they probably want to keep the depth.

Hopefully he’s shown enough to be traded in the offseason in his final year. Or hopefully we have enough money to keep him in the pen as a long man. But I’d hope we sign Hamels back or some other FA and Adbert/Rea/Graveman is the 6-8 depth.
