If Joe pulls another horsefeathering starter who is under 100 pitches and hasn't given up a run to get to this horsefeathering bullpen, he should be fired in the horsefeathering dugout.

I’d be OK moving on from the Joe era regardless.

Such a fascinating swing series. The Cubs could have gone a long way toward ending the Brewers by somehow sweeping them, but that was never going to happen.

Also, the Cubs don't score a lot of runs against the Brewers that often, so I'm thinking they won't score a lot of runs tomorrow.

just a complete disaster of a season. start the rebuild and get rid of theo when his contract runs out. we can't afford to let him cripple this franchise with more bad signings. it;s just one huge misfire after another. Edited by 17 Seconds

I know this would never happen with the Cubs 1 game out of 1st but it would be cool to do a retooling. At the very least I don’t think we should make any major additions at the deadline unless it helps us just as much long term as it would this year (basically no rentals).

The other thing that sort of sucks that I think we all thought was possible, is that Kimbrel could very well still be good, but he's not going to be Kimbrel having missed eight months and still in spring training mode. So there isn't even that comfort of him coming into close a tight game because he has a higher chance than usual of being really shitty.

24 strikeouts, 3 walks, and 10 hits for the cubs offense so far this series. it's like we never left the end of last season.

Also, they have a difficult time scoring runs without hitting home runs, and that doesn't feel like a great recipe for offensive consistency.

We’re definitely scoring like 10 runs tomorrow and winning before scoring 4 total in the first two games of the Cards series.

That’s classic 2018 second half Cubs.

he's pitched in plenty of games already, he's not in spring training mode

I mean, he's pitched 11 innings......in eight months.

If that ain't spring training mode, it ain't yet regular season mode.

11 max effort innings. he's been in the majors for a month now. rust is not even close to an excuse at this point.

I hope. We do pull out a 7-0 win out of nowhere every once in a while against this horsefeathering team.

If you think Craig Kimbrel is up to speed at this point, you are crazy, son. Just my opinion, though.
