I didn't see the full article, but apparently an Orange County Register article said the police are now ruling out suicide. I wonder if he had some undiagnosed heart condition.

Had a friend who was in college a few years ago, healthy, clean-living, etc. Had a bit of a cold or something similarly small, took some OTC medicine, didnt wake up the next morning. 22 years old, a couple months from college graduation and she just didn't get up one morning. Please do not rush to assume Skaggs was into something bad. It may well be proven eventually that he was, but right now I'm thinking awful tragedy and nothing else.

WTF

Wowwwww, that's despicable on the part of the family. What horrible people.

What? If there’s someone in the organization enabling drug abuse and prescribing/supplying these guys drugs they don’t need they should absolutely be investigated.

Did you read the article? They're just blindly lashing out trying to blame someone bc they can't handle that he had a substance abuse problem. horsefeathers them.

Sure I get they’re trying to place blame and would prefer not to accept their son/husband was just an addict but even if it’s misguided he was still getting the drugs from somewhere and if someone in the organization was enabling/facilitating it, it should be investigated.

Especially if it was known that he had a problem and the team doctor for example wrote him a script for these drugs.

Its not blind at all. Rumblings from other MLB organizations is that an Angels employee has been giving opiods to many players to treat pain.

There’s a lot of despicable stuff in this world, a family being upset with an apparent supplier of opioids is not one of them.

I wonder if it was a case of him wanting Oxy, and then ending up with some laced/cut with fentanyl. Seems like that's what ends up killing so many people who seek out non prescription Oxy, especially when alcohol is involved.
