Looks like Kawhi is being traded.......to the Raptors?

Hope they are able to get him to resign because this basically risks the future of their good not great run

Yeah, I'm not sure how acquiring one season of Kawhi makes them markedly better when they trade away one of their best pieces to get him. I get that the East is wide open now with LeBron gone, but...

Kawhi is the best player in the East right now probably (certainly top 3, him Giannis and healthy Kyrie?). They got a lot better, Derozan is a nice player and all but he’s closer to like the 30th best NBA player than Kawhi level. Plus they still could always trade Kawhi by the deadline if things aren’t working out.

I like the idea of DeRozen playing under Pop with that opportunity for him to get better. He may not as he’s not that young but I like that deal when it’s for a guy who hates your team.

Is there a question of whether/when Kawhi will play? This injury thing is painting him as a Derrick Rose-esque head case

Toronto isn't getting past Boston or Philadelphia going forward. My guess is he gets traded to the Lakers within the week. Toronto gets picks and youngsters, starts their rebuild.

Is that because Kawhi will refuse to play there? Because otherwise I like this move for Toronto. Wasn’t the knock on them for the last few years that they had depth but didn’t have the elite guy for the playoffs? Now they still have depth but have the top line guy to go with him. I know Derozan is no slouch but I’d take Kawhi easily.

But if Kawhi refuses to go there, that changes things obviously.

What, exactly, has been Leonard's problem? Him sitting out/protesting playing/pouting has been talked about at length but wasn't clear on the background.

There’s a bunch of things that have been out there. Some of them were the Spurs doctors and his doctors/trainer didn’t agree on the course of action with his groin injury last year, another is his uncle who is his manager type dude got more involved lately in controlling him and wants him out, another is his shoe deal came up recently or for re-negotiations and he didn’t get as big of deal as other stars and blamed it on being in San Antonio

I Think this is a good deal for both. Toronto isn’t going to tank from the 1 seed last year(nor should they) so they take a shot against a Boston team that should still beat them and hope Kawhi goes Paul George-OKC on Toronto

Spurs couldn’t go forward with him and this is certainly better than LAs garbage

A big issue with Kawhi isn’t that he just refuses to talk about what’s going to the media, so everything is rumors and speculation. If he would just say something it would quell a lot of the uncertainty around him. As it stands, it feels like Derrick Rose refusing to play on a healthy knee Part 2

Vince Carter signed for another go around, with the Hawks this time. How many NBA players this year will be younger than his NBA career (Feb 5, 1999 debut)

I think teammate trae young is a 90s baby lol

edit: i meant to say a 2000s baby but obviously that was wrong BUT i was still right anyway kinda
