between Martinez spazzing about Russell leaving the base

Tell me about this please.

They threw over to first and Russell got back easily. Russell did the increasingly common move of leaving his hand on the base while he stood up and swung his leg around to replace the hand on the base(I'm poorly describing it but I think you get the idea). As he made that transition Martinez tagged him again and then frantically signaled for the dugout to ask for a review. They called their review people and declined to challenge.

Guys, Heyward has more home runs on the team than anyone not named Baez and Schwarber. And he's tied with Happ and Bryant. What in the world.

I actually think he was out on that so I’m glad they declined.

It is possible there was a gap, but it wasn't very obvious. Also since Martinez did a separate tag on Russell's hip(as opposed to holding the glove on him) it was probably impossible to find a camera angle that showed he tagged him during what would've been an extremely small window.

KB just completely ignored Dex's deke attempt because he knew the ball was getting down and advanced to third. He's just spectacular.

It wasn’t so much ignoring the deke attempt as it was more knowing Dexter doesn’t throw much better than a middle schooler
