Lester was asked to build an ultimate roster from his championship teams and he took Lowell over KB at 3B.

In the comments someone says that Lester revealed in a podcast that he didnt trust KB's defense at 3B.

His defense never really killed us at 3B, right? I always thought he was just fine, he graded well, but obviously only played there a few years before moving to the OF. But I never cringed at him being there in the lineup. Was he actually that bad?

Bryant was a net positive on defense, according to fWAR, each of his first 3 years. That doesn't account for which position he was playing, but his best defensive WAR rating was 2016 - rated slightly higher, in fact, than Lowell did in 2007 - so that year, at least, I think we can assume he was legitimately good at 3B.

It might be worth noting that Bryant only started at 3B for 13 out of his 32 regular season starts that year. He started at 3B every Lester start in the playoffs, but wondering if he preferred him in the outfield with Baez at third and Zobrist at second.

Kyle Tucker is horrible now.

Since the pitcher's mound was lowered in 1969, the only MLB hitter to have an 85-game home span with an:

👉 AVG below .182

👉 OBP below .288

👉 SLG below .266

(in at least 338 plate appearances)

is Kyle Tucker. 😮

That's over 123 PAs;  K%/BB% 22.8%/8.9%; xwOBA .380, 158 wRC+.  I'll always have a soft spot for C-Mo, so hope he's able to make it stick this time.

Whatever is wrong with Tucker seems much deeper than a day’s rest can fix.

I wonder if the hand injury last year is the culprit?
