The VBs had 13 total hits in their series this weekend, so of course they swept

Baseball is garbage and we should hope it collapses before football does.

So 2 games up going into our series? Gotta somehow win 2 of 3

No, we don’t.

You’re right we don’t. I realize there are

Other games after this series

We only have to win the division by one game.

i guess you could argue how definitive "gotta" is, but winning the series is way more important now than it looked like it was going to be a few days ago. merely avoiding a sweep isn't as acceptable as it was before. the difference between losing/winning 2 of 3 is pretty huge.

The Angels have a no hitter going (7 innings) in what appears to be a bullpen game, first guy got 4 outs next guy 5 then 1IP each for the next 4 guys

edit: I jinxed that real fast (it was Cub product Blake Parker that lost it too)

other than a general dislike for anything good ever happening to the cardinals or their fans, don't we kinda want the cardinals to get the 2nd WC? would rather face them than dodgers, right?

I’d rather eliminate them on the last series of the season starting Chatwood and winning on a walk off Homer by Taylor Davis. horsefeathers the Cardinals.

Like, if my only goal is to maximize the chances the Cubs win the World Series by some tiny percentage, then yes, we want the worst teams in.

But I'd rather lose to the Dodgers every year for a decade in the playoffs than risk losing to the Cardinals or Brewers.

Pretty much.

And given that I think the playoffs version of the 2018 Cubs is going to be a desiccated plague corpse, I'd ESPECIALLY prefer them to get rolled by literally anyone besides the Brewers or the Cardinals.

Harrison, literally Mike Trout, Bader now has a .757 OPS and K rate over 30%. That team is full of second division players

They had a nice few weeks but are what they are. Hoping the Brewers do the same soon.
