Jesus Christ Yelich. Enough

Sure would be nice if he was playing for the Cubs instead

Yeah, that the Cubs' FO didn't go balls out to get him is going to forever drive me up the wall. That should have been a no-brainer.

He would have Russell like numbers if he played for the Cubs. 2-1 Pittsburgh as I type

For the absolutely insane doom boners out there:

The only way the Cardinals could eliminate us before the last series of the season is if we lost all 11 games and they won all 10 games before our series against them.

haven't even the most raging of the doom boners accepted that the Cardinals are done for?

Everyone who was worried about the cardinals was being even extra doom bonery, given that the brewers were between the two of us.

I was waaay to casual in my assessment of what Yelich is as a player. I viewed him as a nice on-base type guy w/ some OF versatility, but sure as hell had zero clue he could be a masher as he's been the 2nd half. I'm embarrassed that I dismissed him as something that could be replicated by what we had in-house.

Aha!!! But if the Cubs go 2-9 and the Sh!tbirds go 8-2 in the remaining games before that series, they could STILL eliminate us.

So there!

He's always going to be the one that got away. I thought it was a reach that the Cubs were thinking that Schwarber was likely to be as good as him, and now it just looks flat out dumb.

without looking up who the Brewers gave up for him, I doubt the Cubs could have matched it

On Thursday, the Miami Marlins traded outfielder Christian Yelich to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for outfielders Lewis Brinson and Monte Harrison, infielder Isan Diaz, and right-handed pitcher Jordan Yamamoto.

Colorado is losing 2-0 early to SF. If they lose they would drop into WC2, 0.5 behind the Dodgers in the West and 0.5 ahead of the Cardinals for the Wild Card.

Would be nice to avoid LAD in the LDS. And it would be nice for the Cardinals to miss the playoffs entirely. And I could totally see Colorado bludgeon Milwaukee pitching in a 1 game playoff
