What number of dubious looking contracts? Is the number 1?

I'm guessing they are counting Heyward (lol, considering his past month), Darvish (lol, it's been 2 months) and......??

Chatwood is almost certainly the other.

And they still have one of the most talented rosters in the game and they still have the money to drop a bunch of cash on Harper's doorstep.

a few posters there were so relieved when they signed darvish, convinced that it meant there was no way they could go after harper and machado now.

I was at the game yesterday, the single best part of the game for me was watching Schwarber try playing left field. That guy is an absolute disaster out there, most of my bar league softball team is better in the outfield than him. It's actually hilarious.

I mean, the guy had watched Braun butcher it up out there for, what, a decade, and this is his take.

Do you expect him to focus on Heyward getting a 110mph game-tying hit off Hader, or their Vaunted Bullpen giving up 5 runs in the 11th, or their best hitter being a 38yo backup catcher? He has to find something.

The concept of a team having enough fans to be able to absorb a couple less-than-ideal contracts turns Brewers fans into Westworld robots looking at an iphone.

The Cubs FO made a dreadful big $ signing, and look like they potentially made 2 more bad ones this past offseason...

Dumb GM: Signing Darvish and Chatwood.

Smart GM: Trying to sign Darvish and Chatwood (and every other FA pitcher) but failing because you have a garbage franchise that is every free agent's 26th choice.

Brewer fans are going to be so smug this offseason when they sign Logan Forsythe and the Cubs are forever stuck with Bryce Harper's contract.

I'm curious if that Endderr guy would be devastated with the Brewers winning 93 games, the division, and then making the Final Four? What a disaster, why haven't we fired Theo?

VB's pitching taking a dump today.

-Chase gets chased after giving up 6 ER in 5.1 (glad he dominated Cubs in last start)

-Jeffress couldn't hold the game tied and let in 2 inherited from Chase's start.

-Rest of bullpen has given up 4 (so far) including a dong allowed by Knebel.

Score is 10-5 in top of 9th.

And they had a pitcher puke on the mound. Twice.

Cain to DL and Shaw is out the next two days with a wrist injury that will be re-evaluated at that time.

Shaw’s wrist injury sounds very Zobrist like from last year.

Now that the Cubs are back in first place, I think this is the thread that should be used to discuss the VBs (instead of the "Teams that will not win the WS" thread.

Marte HRs in the first and the VBs are already down.

It should always have been used to discuss the Brewers. Y'all spook too easy.

Says the guy who started the thread and specifically didn't include the Brewers in the title

The VBs have played only 1 more home game than road game so far this year.....and yet the VBs are ALWAYS at home in October it seems.

Yelich hits a tater off of Kershaw to tie the game at 2 in the bottom of the 6th. Torn on who to root for. Would like to see the Brewers continue to fade. But at the same time, I'd like to see the Dodgers cool off a bit.
