Fuller not expected to sign a long-term deal. Don’t know if that’s Kyle’s choice or the Bears’. Had an up and down career, but PFF’s top-rated CB last year. Any good FAs if they don’t franchise tag him?

I don't think he was their top rated CB. He had the top rated single game of any CB (against Cincinnati), but looks like he was 22nd overall.

Also, yes there are plenty of good CBs. Malcolm Butler, Bashaud Breeland, Trumaine Johnson, and EJ Gaines, who are all similar level CBs last year. But I'd take Fuller over all of them due to age (slightly younger than all except a week older than Gaines) and we already know his fit in this defense unlike the others.

I also love this CB class in the top 60 picks so I'd certainly be willing to double up at the position, with or without Fuller. That being said, Fuller will be back on a franchise tag.

Could have sworn Mully said Fuller was the top-rated CB last year

if he did, that's wrong

Of the guys who were questionable to cut I assumed he was the most likely to stay. I probably would have kept him AND drafted Nelson at #8 but oh well.

Why? Putting THAT much money into your interior line is not a great use of money. Move Whitehair or draft Nelson. Or find some other decent guy. But, there's plenty of ways to solve OG without using that much cap space.

Sounds like you're happy with relying on a bounceback from Whitehair (good as a rookie at OG but no guarantee he will be right back at that level when moving back), health from Long (I'm really skeptical of him), and Nelson making it several spots beyond where the majority of mocks have him going. If teams are okay drafting Nelson top 5 (Denver is the hot button destination) then I think it signals a bit of a philosophical shift in the league. 5 years ago I don't think he would be considered so high but interior line is being prioritized higher than before. Pure and simple, I want a dominant line, and for the unit to be deep. I won't be too happy with a patchwork line that depends on several variables.

We're looking at nearly 100m in space after cuts and Pace won't be able to land everybody he targets. I hope that he casts a wide net and that certainly involves Norwell, a young, nasty, bulldog to help protect our franchise QB.

What would be your move, if say, you get everybody you target?

I'd sign Fulton. Pugh, if his price isn't more than around the same as Sitton's was this year. Personally, I'd try and trade back in the draft. Take a WR, CB, OL, or OLB in the 12-15 range, if it netted us an extra 2nd.

I'm totally on board with a trade down. I say it every year. Pace really hasn't seemed to be a fan of it with his 1st rounder though.

Buffalo is evidently talking about trading up. They've got 21, 22, 53, and 55. Not that the trade value chart is a great example, but pick 8 is 1400. 21 and 22 are 800 and 780. 53 and 55 are 370 and 350. Their 3rd is pick 96 and is valued at 116. Our 2 4ths are at 96 and 72 points.

To match value, it'd be something like 8 and our best 4th(1496) for 22, 53, and 55(1500).

Not sure I'd want to trade THAT far down. But, I guess it all boils down to what gets done in FA.

With Landry, Robinson, and Watkins not likely to hit the market, a WR early is damn near a must, in my mind. Hell, I'd possibly use one of our 4ths on one as well.

3 second rounders? with the WR market closing up, I'd be tempted to do that. take the top WR, G, or CB available at #22, and clean house in G, CB, and WR in the second.

I really want Trubisky to have a good group of WR's.

Leming brought up a scenario of Meredith, Albert Wilson or Doug Gabriel, Marqise Lee or Paul Richardson, and a 2nd or 4th Rounder.

I'd puke.

Already some talk the Fins are going to try and trade Landry. If so, I think my ideal scenario is to give up our 2nd for him and to trade 8 and our best 4th for 22, 53, and 55.

I don't know if I liked it, without knowing you'd get a WR. But, if our 2nd could net Landry, I'd do this trade with Buffalo.

No thanks on giving up picks and overpaying for Landry. Doing one of those is bad enough.

That's not how it works.

I would think Landry would have a good case if he filed a grievance against the Dolphins, which would then make him a free agent once again. However, he might also be licking his lips at the though of making $16m next year.

What do you suppose his wingspan is? Those arms appear to be long AFf09ae42e358e875ba7b019a91875c6d9.jpg

Albatross

Who is that?

Edmunds

I know camera angles can make things seem odd and disproportionate but I'm his height and I tried to mimic his stance and my hands don't come close to going as far down as his.
