I hope to god this is because they are close to a deal and not Pace being Pace (see Alshon)

Hearing that they're going to let Fuller test the market and report back to the Bears with what other teams are offering and the Bears are expected to match anything not outlandish. For reference, this approached worked for the Bears with Lance Briggs back in the day.

Don't understand why they wouldn't just do that with the transition tag

Nelson is awesome but there's a lot of good OL to choose from and we need more picks IMO more than we need a possible great OG.

Yeah, I'm kind of hoping one of Isaiah Wynn, Will Hernandez, Billy Price or James Daniels falls to the second round. Have to address OL somewhere this year, but would love to try and attack defense with the top 10 pick.

I think my perfect off-season is us getting a pair of starting WR's in FA. With one being Robinson or Landry(via them rescending the tag), plus signing Newell and a CB, like Amukamara.

Draft OLB in the 1st. Trade down and get a 3rd back. Use those picks on a CB and an O-Lineman.

Allen Robinson is a FA. horsefeathers Landry

Given that the Bears already have one guy rehabbing a knee injury at the same position, I find it highly unlikely that they sign another guy with the same exact problem. I think they figure out a way to swing a deal for Landry that doesn't break the bank.

i don't find them seriously pursuing or signing allen robinson highly unlikely by any definition of those words

Might as well go for bust on the injury front. Robinson, Meredith, White (lol). Better than giving up assets and a big payday for a sub 6 foot, sub 10 ypc WR.

I'm a big Landry fan, but I would have a hard time trading draft picks for the right to pay him big money. For the same money you could probably do Paul Richardson and Albert Wilson, plus whatever that draft pick gets you.

The nice thing about having a smoldering crater where your WR core is supposed to be is that it's really easy to make substantial upgrades. I keep waffling on the best way to attack this offseason, but my current thought is to grab those two guys (both in the top 20 in DVOA last year) and instead throw our financial weight around with Norwell and the defense.

I read where someone suggested we just swap first rounders with Miami and they send us Landry.

If Landry were traded, he'd likely be worth a 3rd rounder, so in essence Miami would be tossing in a 3rd rounder to move up. Other teams might be wanting to move up to #8 to get a QB, so I think they idea isn't horrible.

So we get Landry and Miami gets the opportunity to trade for multiple picks minus Landry?

That all feels pretty convoluted.

Miami trades 1st round pick #11 and Jarvis Landry to the Bears for 1st round pick #8.

draft Nelson/Ridley/whoever the hell you want

that would be a very successful offseason

Sherman isn't coming to the Bears, he wants to win now. I'd rather draft one of the CB's in the top 10 anyways.

Guy who wants to win now is taking his 1st visit to the 49ers, who may be his last visit, being that it's near his hometown, near where he went to college, and has a DC he's familiar with from his Seahawks days.

Also win now in NFL terms can be anywhere.
