There are rumors that Iglesias is being shopped around. I'm guessing the price will be too high and the Reds might not even want to trade in the division but I would definitely love to have him closing for the next 3 years.

Dario Alvarez is showing up on our 40 man currently. Brett noticed it. No idea if this is a glitch or if we signed him.

Not sure if he's a guy you give a major league deal to, at this stage of the off season. But, I do like putting him in the mix for a bullpen spot. Assuming that if we did sign him, its for the minimum or something.

Any idea on how we find out if he has any option years left? Is there a site that lists that kind of stuff?

The option year really makes that Alvarez pickup another really strong minor move. The other one I have in mind is the Cuban C on a minor league deal. This FO is just so damn airtight and relentless, solid opening to the offseason.

lmao this is a hilarious review of a completely meaningless pickup of a trash 10th reliever

Gregerson off the board

Well horsefeathers him.

I'm fine with that. I didn't want Gregerson on a 2-year deal. St. Louis once again relegated to the 2nd or 3rd tier of player.

Oh, I don't care about Gregerson at all. I just had him as a 1/5 guy on most of my mocks.

I know. Me too.

I wonder what the Cubs do from here on out. Can easily sit back and wait to see how the market filters out or continue to be aggressive and go get their guy.

Of the remaining options, I like McGee, Nicasio and Neshak. Adding one of those to an existing bullpen of:

Morrow

Strop

Edwards

Wilson

Montgomery

...would work for me.

Remember how Eddie Butler exists? What are they going to do with him? He has no options left so I assume they'd put out trade feelers right?

Maybe see how he looks in ST and he gets a bullpen or 6th starter spot (if we go that route) to start the year since theres a few guys going for the last spot or 2 in the bullpen who have options. If he sucks in ST he's cut/traded. Doubt he brings much back or else maybe he's included in a deal we trade for a SP as a ancillary piece.

Butler does seem like a guy who might turn into a monster if he's just airing it out for an inning. I'd like to see him come to ST competing for the last spot in the pen, but if he doesnt earn it there's no sleep lost when you have to put him on waivers.
