Vegas -160 favorite, I am a bit surprised.

Vegas/books probably know they are going to take a lot of money on them so they adjusted it more for that than who they think is gonna win.

I read the other day if Vegas wins, with the futures bet on them, sportbooks will take a loss on the year overall for NHL betting since so many people put money on them for the hell of it at the beginning of the year. They have a multi-million dollar exposure to them winning.

Yeah, I would guess they’re trying to get as much money on the Caps as possible to balance it out since the odds of Vegas winning were so high at the beginning of the year (over 100-1).

but it's not like there was a ton of money bet on them.

How much they would have to pay out matters just as much if not more.

Estimates are 5 million

How do the officials miss a clear cross check when the puck is a foot or two away? Aren't they supposed to be looking at where the puck is?

Huge missed call also. Instead of the Caps being up 4-3 with a power play, it's 4-4.

Then they miss Wilson gooning it up at center ice

Wasn't a cross check. It was just a really good two-handed shove. If your stick is already in contact with them, *then* you extend your arms, it's not a penalty, even if you do it pretty violently and send the guy flying.

Plus it's the finals and you pretty much have to murder someone to get a penalty called.

I know I'm preaching to the choir in this thread but playoff hockey is horsefeathering awesome. Games 1 and 2 of the finals have been amazing.

All that Vegas guy needed to do with 2ish minutes left was lift the puck and the game is tied. Great save by Holtby.

The games have been really fun. That PP goal by Washington (the one-tie from Ovechkin) was video game hockey. So great.

That said, I hope Tom Wilson falls down a hole. The NHL has long moved past the age of head-hunters, and this goon is out there looking to put people in the hospital

They have been really fun but for the 2nd game in a row I fell asleep between the 2nd and 3rd periods. This is so much better than what the NBA produces.

looks like the caps/ovechkin are finally having their mavericks/dirk run

Lets hope

Living in Maryland, I kind of enjoy their suffering. On the other hand, The Caps winning the Cup will really annoy Pens fans so either way I'm good.

Most Pens fans will probably be annoyed by it, yeah. I don't care about the Caps winning it really, they're the team that knocked us out so its better that they win it all imo.

Just wish Wilson didn't get to enjoy a Stanley Cup. horsefeathers that guy. Also woulda been cool to see Fleury win one.

Anyone else think the clock struck midnight on the Knights after Holtby made that unconscious save in Game 2? I certainly did, believe the Caps will finish it off Thursday night.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Knights regress badly next season, could see them going from No. 1 seed to missing the playoffs ala the Blackhawks.

Agreed with this all. Also Fleury is finally coming back to earth. He was very mediocre the last 4-5 years in Pittsburgh.

I'm a Blackhawks fan so no dog in this race but have definitely been rooting for the Caps. I don't root for all tortured fanbases (haha Blues) but Ovi seems cool and DC fans have 4 pro teams and haven't won anything in forever. Hoping they finish the job.

Also probably better for Vegas long term as a franchise if they don't win it. No shame in conference championship, especially in your first year.

Anyone else think the Vegas Sports books have "suggested" that the Nights should maybe not try so hard?
