This past week has felt very 2016 Cubs, and I love it

This game in particular felt very 2016 Cubs, some dongers, some great defense, some BABIP luck.

Is Gallagher done with baseball? Looks like he last played for the Sugar Land Skeeters last year.

Great name for a baseball team btw.

I still remember when Jimmy Anderson had a 4 inning save in Houston during the 2004 season, and Andy Dolan of desipio sent a pizza to his hotel room to thank him.

Brewers have a long way to go to catch up to the Giants.

The Giants, particularly Krukow and Kuiper, claiming the Cubs intentionally took too long to get the tarp on the field during that 2014 game still takes the cake.

From Brisbee's recap: http://www.mccoveychronicles.com/2017/5/25/15692950/sf-giants-cubs-whatever-pal-see-if-i-care?utm_campaign=mccoveychronicles&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter

While I love Buster Posey and Brandon Crawford, and you know I stand with Brandon Belt against the heretics, for they are legion, it’s easy to get Cubs envy. They have better players. It’s possible for them to rest all of their starters and have a much better lineup than the Giants, and that’s not hyperbole.

That’s their current roster of hitters. Sit the best four. Bryant, Rizzo, and the two wild cards of your choice. It’s still better than the starting lineup for the Giants today.

That’s the cold reality. The Giants’ starting pitcher was much better, if a whole lot unluckier, but just focus on the lineups, and the talent gap is breathtaking. The Cubs are a contending team, and the Giants don’t look a whole lot like them right now.

I have to imagine you'd have to look back a really long time to find the last time the cubs took 3/4 against the giants

I mean, didn't they sweep a four-game set in 2015?

ETA: If I'm wrong, I apologize and did not intend to spread false info.

That they did. Though I believe Ding Dong is referring to the last time we played the Giants, in the NLDS.

That series in 2015 was awesome, though. It was basically the start of the Super Cubs.
