I wish mid-transit, why the heck did Willson get caught stealing

Full count on Jay, who had seen about 11 pitches. Just trying to stay out of a double play and well Jay swung and missed on the only pitch of a 10+ pitch AB for a strike em out throw em out.

Terrific. Audio is fine but video isn't loading on the phone app and is choppy as all hell on my work Mac

lol only run of the game scores on an error and our closer gives up 3 rockets for outs. That is maximum trolling by the Cubs tonight.

Is Almora catching the ball at his chest like Dexter or am I imagining this?

Not quite exactly the same, but definitely very similar.

Probably shouldn't have won that one. In the past, I'd just expect whoever to score a few in the late innings. Its still flat out amazing to me that we're where we're at, after 5 years. You dreamed it, you probably thought it was possible. But, there was always that built in "something's going to horsefeathers up" going thru your head too.

Now? We're just better than everyone and we horsefeathering know it. Down 3 in the 9th? What's our win probability? 50/50? The Pirates, hell EVERYONE, treats beating us like they just won the World Series.

And they SHOULD. Since the real one is on lockdown.

This game will be the start of a run of excellent starting pitching, after which the rest of the league is going to collectively go, "Oh horsefeathers..." because we'll also be averaging 8 runs scored per game.

Uehara relieving Hendricks seems like it has a potential to be very bad, repertoire-wise

I hadn't thought of this occurrence before. But I definitely agree. You have the chance to lull batters to sleep with Hendricks' velocity and then bring 96 out of the pen with Carl or whomever. I'm not sure how much effect it would have on Koji, but there's a benefit to be had by going to Carl there.
