I was unable to find an official MLB video on Youtube for the Rizzo HR (well, there's one but it also includes a moment that's coming in a bit), so I improvised a touch.

#16: Bryant Scores From First on Single by "Emotional" Rizzo

Why on the list? - Sure, Bryant was running on the pitch, but Rizzo hit a sharp line drive to medium right field, and Bryant was basically home before the throw even came in, could have scored standing up. Rizzo was able to take second on the play, but it's amazing he was able to function at all, considering what he had just said to Ross in the dugout:

wow Rizzo opens up emotionally to him and Ross just flatly tells him it's only going to get worse. No wonder they all hated Ross so much and actually wanted him to die and hoped he would die on the field.

it's probably like the most predictable movie a baseball player would quote, other than borat of course

CARL EDWARDS JR IS BLACK NOT

When Javy strikes out he always comes back to the dugout and says, "My Wiffffff"

In my country, they'd go crazy for these two:

CARL EDWARDS JR IS BLACK NOT

When Javy strikes out he always comes back to the dugout and says, "My Wiffffff"

This one...

Nobody has quoted Borat for like five years.

... not so much.

Rizzo: Where's Rossie?

Maddon: Rizz, he's retired.

Rizzo: Wow he was pretty good for a retired.

#13: Baez Ends Kluber's Night

Why on the list? - Javy had really struggled at the plate in the World Series after really dominating the first two rounds of the playoffs. Coming into game 7, he had 4 hits in the series, all singles, and hadn't scored or driven in a run. Kluber may not have been at his best on the night, but the HR still counts as much as any other in the series. Nobody was happier that he got to be involved in the offense this day than Baez, who had struggled defensively earlier in the game and got a chance to atone for it there.

#12: Schwarber Swings on 3-0, Collects His First RBI of Season

Why on the list? - You're on your second game back from a 6 month knee rehab, you've seen all of Kluber, Miller and Allen to this point. Sure, you got a solid hit and a walk, but it's impossible to have your hit timing back so soon, right? Well, not if your name is Kyle Schwarber, who proceeded to line a single to right and double the Cubs' advantage in game 2, and put Cubs fans at ease a little bit.

#11: Russell Gets a Little Help for 2-Run Double

Why on the list? - After Bryant's HR to start the scoring off Tomlin, the Cubs got Rizzo and Zobrist on the corners with 2 out for Russell, who hit a short fly ball to right center that neither Naquin nor Chisenhall went and got, and the ball dropped. Zobrist never hesitated (2 outs), and tried to score from first. Perez was blocking the plate, so Zobrist did what he should have done and ran right over him before the ball got there. The ball got away, and Russell got all the way to third on a 150-foot lazy fly.

Later in the game, Naquin and Chisenhall nearly did the exact same thing:

It's pretty amazing how much better the Cubs were defensively than every other team they played during the playoffs. One day, the popular thought will return to offense being more valuable than defense and people will be pointing to this Cubs team to make a point about whichever side of that debate that they support.

that indians miscue was the exact moment i actually felt good about our chances

Same. My completely irrational World Series victory probably assessment that night:

Before the game: 10% (still major doom boner, tempered only by the fact that the Indians wouldn't be celebrating at Wrigley)

Before that play: 35%

After that play: 99.9%
