i don't really know the origin of the barstool vitriol, so forgive me

they seem like a bunch of super douchey frat bros - which is what i figured was the reason - but if they're terrible people on top of it, then my bad. i just heard it was a good interview on the radio.

i've seen pft commenter stuff posted a lot so i figured it was fair game. also, our (actual lovable) players seem to love them, so i hope it's nothing too awful.

pft and uncle chaps both established their brand before joining barstool.

But my interest in both has declined since the move. PFT used to come across like a critique of shitty people who are sports fans. But the appreciation for his foolishness is akin to all the people who like Blazing Saddles for the wrong reasons (why can't I say %^@$%^@% if they can say it in that movie). They are super douchey frat bros and the people I know who like them best are the super douchiest frat bros I know. They've got terribly misogynistic nonsense on there all the time. The incredibly douchy founder recently went on a very bizarre "my girlfriend banged her spin cycle instructor and now I'm going to do my darndest to let everybody else know she banged her spin cycle instructor" rant.

There's definitely a strong sense of people who are happy with Trump's win, even if only because the dirty woman lost, with that site.

And they are huge jock sniffers. It's not surprising that Kyle Long is buddy buddy with them.

I like the confirmation that the Cubs are using brain-scanning software to identify amateur hitters with the sight/reaction times/pattern recognition/whatever to handle professional pitching.

Competitive advantages close fast these days so maybe other teams are already catching up, but that's just an amazing accomplishment.

bryant is the best player

rizzo is the face of the franchise

schwarber is the one

And there is a small chance that Russell could end up being the best one of the three, even if it is small.

Schwarber and Heyward are the ones that when they are at bat I have to try to make an effort to watch..Schwarber to watch him mash and Heyward for Heyward bingo of groundout to 2nd, pop up or K

if Russell becomes the best of those three, some weird horsefeathers will have happened.

I'm just really bullish on the improvement that Russell made from year one to two and think he will stay at the premium defensive position. Might not matter though with the way Bryant hits.

I was just poking at the language/math of saying Russell would be the "best one of the three" when he was not one of the three to begin with.

Ah yes, words best me. Best of the four.

I'm still wrapping my head around the fact that we not only have a "the 3" as good as KB, Rizz, and Schwarb, but an additional 3 in Russell, Contreras, and Baez, who would alone be an exciting "the 3" for most teams.

horsefeathers, there's a non-zero chance that Javy figures it all out and becomes the best of them all. And Contreras is already so so good its remarkable.

Honestly, Contreras coming out of nowhere and looking like he is one of the top 5 catchers in the league is one of the more astonishing parts of the whole shebang. If I was a fan of some other team and saw that I would be beside myself with jealousy and frustration.

"Rizzo's Song" is going to be a real tear jerker.
