On the one hand, I feel bad for people that IMB decides to troll. On the other hand, I have trouble empathizing with someone that has already been banned once (and was only allowed back on because he chose to come back with condolences for Fred) that has been semi-trolling people in the political thread.

 

I think I'll let it ride for now and see where it goes.

 

I'd suggest telling them to act like grown ups and stop antagonizing each other, but I'm not about to tell you how to run the show.

I picked up the framed Tribune headline for my dad thanks to people bringing it up in this thread; what else have people found along those lines? My brother wants Cubs stuff as well, but it sounds like other family members have him pretty well stocked with clothing and apparel, so I wanted to get him something nice to hang up on the wall. What are some of the better options you guys have seen along those lines?

I'm interested in the framed Tribune - I want that paper on my wall but I'm debating between the original newspaper and the print that they are offering. Is the one you can order a lot higher quality than the original paper if I were to get that framed?

Thanks for the link, Sofa. This is exactly what I was looking for. Just placed the order. Might be a tad pricey, but not outrageous for the quality.

 

Plus when they dry press them like that the paper doesn't turn yellow. I have the Sosa HR 62 paper that is the same way and it's still good 18 years later.

Yeah, most listings I was seeing on eBay and elsewhere were just for one paper or print for around $100. Two for $140? Yoink.

Good chance they got way more World Series orders than they've ever gotten before and they have to make all of the stuff also (outside of the generic locker room gear, though even that they probably had to make a hell of a lot more when the Cubs won).

Has anyone seen an "old school" team plaque for sale anywhere? I'm talking about a plaque that shows all the players in a team picture and says "World Series Champions" on it.

 

actually interested in this as well. 10-15 years ago i got one with the 1908 team, thought it'd be kinda cool to have another to match it/hang side-by-side

Damn, that would be a good gift for my dad; I remember as a kid always checking out the ones he had for the Bulls and Bears championship seasons that he had hanging in his office. Though that one just seems too....blue? The Bears and Bulls ones were basically just wood and gold, with the colors just showing up in the logo and what the players were wearing.

My Chicago Tribune framed mint photo showed up today. It looks nice, but I was expecting it to be a little bigger and I'm thinking maybe I should have just framed the actual front page instead. My fault for not paying enough attention to the measurements.

you have to copy the image address, not the page itself. not sure what you paid or how big, but it does look really nice. I have a printout of the CT front page from our office color printer taped to my office door. i even managed to use the paper cutter so well the lines are somewhat straight.

I bought the framed print for the World Series and LCS clincher I like them but wish I would have waited for the black friday offers would have saved 150 bucks ...the framed print isnt the actual paper its a poster of it

Is there an effective way to harass the MLB Shop people about something not arriving? The last thing to ship (a 12M size t-shirt for my son, who thankfully can't fit in it yet anyway) is stuck in FedEx hell somewhere. The tracking info I got is apparently wrong because it's not where the tracker says it is. When I e-mailed to ask for some help, including specifically mentioning the tracking info is wrong, they just replied saying here is your tracking number, it's on the way.
