Guh, I've got butterflies already. Biggest sporting event of my fan life by a mile.

This tops even my team being in the Super Bowl. This is baseball and this is the Chicago freaking Cubs

This win will put the Cubs' postseason win percentage ahead of their regular season

This is noteworthy. Its felt like they've struggled, but they've actually been just as good as the regular season. Thanks for this.

I can't think of anyone else I want starting this game. Hendricks has ice water in his veins. Game 7, baby! Get it done, boys!

This is exactly how I feel and why I hope Joe doesn't get the fire in his ass if Hendricks gives up a run in the first inning and a couple base runners. They need 27 outs tonight. He needs at least 5 innings from Hendricks if he wants to win this game tonight. Lester, while I completely understand going to him in the bullpen, is a relative unknown in that role. Chapman is probably good for up to 3 tonight... but I don't want to see Hendricks out of there in the 4th inning with a man on first and 1 run game (either way). He's got ice in his veins. He's been one of the top pitchers in the league tonight and has pitched great in the postseason too. Believe in him.

Go CUBS !!

Didn't need an alarm today, so I didn't bother setting one. Straightening up the house a bit for an overnight guest then picking him up at the airport and off to the golf course where our round should end about half an hour before game time. Then it's either the bar (good seats and sound will be a must) or home to watch Hendricks be Hendricks and the Cubs bats continue to hammer Cleveland into submission. Mrs. BigbadB did not really send me out for food last night. She was celebrating each moment of that game with me. I'm really glad I have a tee time today. I don't care how good I play, I just want the day to hurry up and be 5pm.

All of my San Diego friends are cheering for the Cubs.

Been on the site for 13+ years and I've barely posted in that time. However, I could not pass up posting in this game thread. I thoroughly appreciate and enjoy reading these threads as they certainly help my anxiety and neuroses. Good to know I'm not the only one feeling as I do sometimes. Here's to the Cubs bringing a championship trophy home and curing us all!!!!!!! GO CUBS GO!!!!!!

What was Kluber's worst starts of the year? When was the most recent time he was blown up? Is he due to get rocked?

Kluber had 9 starts of 32 this season where he gave up 4 ER or more, 2 of them in September. For reference, Arrieta had 8 such starts. Hendricks had 3.

Kluber's also on 3 days rest after 3 days rest and a cumulative 169 pitches and 12 innings within the past 7-8 days.

More importantly, this is game 7 of the World Series, and all else is erased.

In 89 plate appearances, Cubs hitters have not had a home run against Corey Kluber.

That all ends tonight.

Give me dongs or give me death.

if there's one activity to really speed up your slow day, its golf.

Good point. But this isn't weekend golf. We'll be moving along at a pretty good pace and I'll be bragging about the Cubs all day and sharing in the insults as we critique each other's golf games.

I'd rather be hitting the links instead of being at work. Sounds like a fine idea to me. Enjoy the weather in San Diego.

The forecast is in the 70's all night in Cleveland today. I really think that the Cubs do better in warmer weather, than cold. As Joe said - "the hitters can feel the bat better" when it's not in the 40's. Hopefully, this plays out to be true.

I'm speechless by these stats. And with a bunch of shut out games tossed in there. We beat Bumgarner. We beat Kershaw. Tonight, we beat Kluber.

So what sucks is that I have to fall asleep here across the Pacific before this game comes on at 9 am. Needless to say, I have a very forgiving boss who understands that these are, indeed, the most unique and pressing of circumstances.

I've watched every game this series, 4 of which with no sound. Its time to become fans who have cheered for a team who's won the World Series.

I understand the suck. I'm in Germany, game starts at 1 am here. So I'm going to try to leave work early, get to bed early, wake up at 1 am, watch the game, then survive on coffee the rest of the day. Luckily, my boss is a Red Sox fan, so he understands.

We lost the Bumgarner game (in the 13th), but that was after limiting him to 5 innings. Either way, we've beaten each team by knocking an ace out of the game early. We've had two good looks against Kluber, who is going on short rest again. I wouldn't have us breaking this drought any other way other than against the other teams best!

I'm already terrified. I usually don't stress till game time, but I'm going to stress all day today. It's probably extremely unhealthy.

Took leave for the whole series. Didn't even want to pretend to care about anything else this week.
