Won't happen. But I'd go Lester, Jake, Kyle. It's gonna take a near perfect game to beat Kershaw in 6. If Jake is god mode we get it. If not, we lose anyway. But Kyle can beat Hill in G7 without risking another Jake clunker against a team of lefties.

I am intrigued by your theories

Pete Rose is kind of a goofy old man and I kinda...don't mind him.

Tomorrow doesn't feel so dire now. I have faith we can take two in our home ball park if we have to. I'd prefer to win tomorrow and get the most horsefeathers up I've ever gotten in my life Saturday night.

With Lester slated to start tomorrow, and then back to Wrigley, it feels as though the pendulum's headed back out way, like, a lot.

One issue, we're fixed and are gonna rock Kershaw now.

This idea is not one that I hate.

Why pitch someone on short rest if we don't have to? 2016 Jake isn't 2015 Jake, but it's not reasonable to expect him to do what he did yesterday again. He's still a lot better than that.

Between the fact that a loss would put us at 3-1 and the potential for us to have a good matchup tomorrow, this game felt sooooo big. And we came through. Cool beans.

Is that strategic advantage worth messing with the rest durations? I have no idea.

Any variety of shut out will suffice. And I'm pretty sure that God Mode Jake is a thing of the past, and the best we can hope for is reliable mid-rotation mode.

I will name my next pet or child (whichever one comes first, probably not another kid) Dickbag McHorseteeth if Mr. McHorseteeth is the winning pitcher in this game.

Had Dickbag survived 3 more batters, you'd owe some splainin' to the Mrs.

If the Cubs win tomorrow, NLCS Game 6 will be just like 2015 NLDS Game 3 I don't care how great Kershaw is it will be a dong fest

(of course that proclamation is because of the Cubs just won confidence)

"You played for 24 years, you better have more than me". Frank to Pete about total bases after it was pointed out ARod had more than Pete so Pete turned it on Frank

Such a bitter old man.

I like the "who has more hits than you Pete?" And he was quick to say "Nobody." Wish Alex would've said Ichiro just to see Pete' meltdown.

Omfg what is Rose talking about? Just saying old Indians players' names from late 90s teams...

He's definitely in a blackout right now.

Pretty sure I read earlier in the thread that Game 3 winners go on to take the LCS something like 140% of the time. :-k
