Disgusting things possibly going on in Lawrence.

Yes. However, Bill Self's press conference was actually fairly decent when compared to other college coaches who have been in this situation. He actually *gasp* acknowledged that the investigation is more important than the game. And he also acknowledged that his guys being called "witnesses" might actually mean that they are more than just witnesses.

Now, I'm sure he and the entire athletic department will probably do the standard cover-up/try to influence the investigation, but for now he looks semi-OK.

The latest thing is just dumb, I dont blame Self at all and normally I would say it should just be a couple game suspension, but the other stuff that happened in the dorm.....They probably need to restructure the whole basketball dorm that they have built.

Mizzou fans, what has happened to the basketball team? Not trying to be funny at all, but really curious. That program has too much history to be this bad. Kim Anderson is 6-39 in conference games.

Starting to get concerned for Northwestern. Wasn't expecting them to win in East Lafayette but they were not competitive at all in the game. OK fine it happens, but then they lose at home to Illinois which is not good at all (sorry Illini fans). Obviously they are still very safe and on track to make their first tourney, but its a concerning trend that is starting to develop and they aren't locks just yet.

I really hope they collapse down the stretch. Delicious purple tears.

ETA: Collapse would just happen to coincide with playing real teams.

Their leading scorer was out last night and they still almost beat Illinois.

I understand that but beating illinois at home shouldn't be a tremendous accomplishment even without the top scorer

I'm just saying im hoping this isn't the start of a trend. Would really like to see NU make it and I think they will.

Worst loss of the Mike Anderson tenure at Arkansas. He has to go.

You're more plugged in about Arkansas than I am (as far as basketball goes), is Anderson on the hot seat now?

I agree with you that he needs to go, but I haven't heard anything from my friends/family (they're all more into football/baseball) down there so just curious if you heard anything.

AS far as the fans and media go, he is definitely on the hot seat, as is John White the AD. Mike's roots go way back in Fayetteville, and he has one of the very top recruiting class coming in next season to go with a solid returning team, so that buys him some time probably. But he is doing nothing with what is up there now, shows no offensive plays...ever, and now the team isn't even coming to play lately. His TO speeches are basically "go get 'em" and "keep fighting". It's like he's never seen a dry erase board.

I am done with him, and most of us feel the same.

Wow, that was a new one in the IU/PU game. One official called charge, other called blocking foul. They huddled, couldn't come to a conclusion, and called a foul on both...which should be impossible.

It also fouled out each team's starting center.

That call didn't make any sense

It was dumb. As soon as they announced the call it just deflated all of the interest out of the moment. I'm glad Purdue went on to win... but wtf?

I have had a hard time really following or caring since about 2008. Was excited for the Richmond Leonard recruiting class, but besides that I guess a bit when Groce took over. I played College basketball and I find myself watching maybe a game a year anymore.

In D3 news, I went and watched my alma mater play today. They're currently (at least as of Jan 31) the highest scoring team in the country. They won tonight 149-146. They were down 7 w/ just under 2:00 left, and finally hit some key 3s to close it out. Very intense. They sub the entire line, play full-court press, lots of traps, and then just set up for quick 3s. Using the Grinnell system, and it's working for them. Only the 1st full season in this scheme, so there's still some growing pains.
