New day, new game

But for reference, this was me after seal boy's throw:

And this was me after the bunt play:

But then this was me after the game:

Why? Let's see... (1) the Cubs are the best team in baseball, by a mile... (2)the Cardinals suck balls... (3) nothing else matters because 1 and 2.

So we forget about yesterday because today is a new day and the Cubs magic number is 12!!!

We get this guy back

And after he sinks his teeth into the Giants and our lineup dongs them into oblivion, Cueto will look like this

Cubs win this game 7-2. Javy and Bryant go deep.

Go Cubs!!!

I know it's sad, but I do like the Giants... like maybe 1/10th as much as the Cubs... but yes, we need to crush them today. I really hope Maddon laid into them for their complete mental failure yesterday. That's the kind of crap that costs teams in the playoffs if they aren't sharp. Better now than then, but it's serious trouble.

I do not think laying into the best team in baseball for a sloppy game in early September accomplishes what you think it would accomplish.

Plus, pretty much one extra hit in multiple situations wins that game anyways.

Yes, I too hope he really screamed at the entire team for Rizzo's baserunning mistake and Maddon's (likely) own stupid call for a bunt. That'll learn 'em real good.

As frustratin as base running mistakes are, everyone has to understand the Cubs make fewer than most teams, are exceptionally smart on the bases and Maddon almost never calls for a bunt. Heck, part of him calling for a bunt in what amounts to garbage time is merely seeing what he's got available to him for the playoffs (in that way, it failing disastrously bodes well for the playoffs)

Watch a White Sox game sometime, friends. They make more egregious mental errors in a game than we do in a week. We're fine.

I gotta imagine Madden realizes this is pretty much spring training and is cool with trying some horsefeathers. I still think that's the reason guys like Richard pitched so much earlier in the year. The team knows what's going on and tries things out that they wouldn't do in more meaningful games.

I'm also pretty confident that Hunter Pence has scored roughly 60% of the runs the Giants have scored this series (he is the worst)

33%

Hunter Pence is worth the strength of 3 men

Since these games mean nothing I kinda wouldn't mind the no hit loss. For one thing it'd be kind of funny because Lackey is a weirdo also it'd be fun to say we do awesome things even when we lose.
