I had to do therapy with people for the last hour and was watching the women lose in PK's prior to that (albeit 10 minutes of the game). What'd I miss? Did anyone get plunked?

Oh, Szczur got plunked, but it was almost surely incidental.

Scissors got hit on the first pitch of his second AB, but few think it was intentional.

Not a great fielding day, also doesn't matter

You could see what Javy was trying to do. Definitely an error out of aggressiveness which we know Joe doesn't mind as much.

kinda needed jake to give some innings today, but he's already 80 pitches

I mean ideally you'd want to get 7 out of him (which wont happen at this point) but we still have a decently rested pen. I would say Montgomery is the only on that is for sure out today.

-Wood has thrown the last 2 games but he only threw 17 pitches last night and 1 the night before. Before that he hadn't pitched since the previous Saturday

-Chapman same thing but he only threw 3 pitches last night, he should be good although I'm sure if he had to go Joe would make him unavailable on Saturday so he'll try to avoid

-Grimm only threw 10 pitches yesterday and I'm really not sure what his usage was in iowa but probably didn't pitch on Wednesday in Iowa

-Smith only threw 9 pitches and before that hadn't pitched since last Friday

-Edwards didn't pitch yesterday so should be good

97 pitches for Jake. Do you take him out and get 4 innings out of your pen with the huge lead, or do you throw Jake another inning to save the pen from a lot of work?

Personally, I pull him and go any order of Wood, Grimm, Edwards and Smith.

Jake has had off days/extra rest recently and another off day Monday for an extra days rest before his next start. I'd say send him out for one more inning unless we put up 3+ runs this inning.

death, taxes, and some dumb cardinal with a stupid name will hit random home runs against the Cubs.

We get him out when it counts:

Damn this still gets me jazzed up. I was at the game behind the third base dugout & that Schwarbomb was the loudest crack of the bat I ever heard Place was shaking to WHOOMP THERE IT IS!

re-watching Javy's dong still gives me the goosebumps. I was sitting in the upper deck and the shaking was incredible

He also has to be white, have little physical talent, and have a poor minor league track record
