Can we go back to where it was just Gleyber+something small for Chapman. I'm very worried about what is going to happen. I hate Eovaldi and Beltran cannot play in the NL.

Wow some of you posting in this thread are making me real sad. Don't give me this "well some players are bad people and you don't know about it" horse [expletive]. That's such a piss poor excuse. When you DO actually know about it, that's when you make the conscious decision to not root for (or in the FO's case, acquire) someone. As for "Well Florida never charged him crap: hi have you ever seen an athlete sex/domestic abuse scandal? They are rich and famous and like most celebrities in their position, get away without any actual criminal charges most of the time. Even without the celebrity factor, stuff like this goes uncharged, un-ivestigated, untried, and unpunished the majority of the time. I'm out for the rest of this crap. Do better, people. You're smarter than that.

Did you root for Starlin the last few years?

Or sammy sosa?

So you're saying that you didn't want to convict Milton Bradley until the evidence came out? And that was a mistake? That sort of seems responsible, no, i.e. the Duke lacrosse team?

What I'm saying is that I don't have to treat my opinions on an entertainment product the same as I do the strict rules of law and order. (For the record, Law & Order as an entertainment product was fantastic.)

Chapman may or may not be a turd. But he seems like a turd and some evidence suggest he's likely a turd. That's enough for me to not like him. I'm not going to go around screaming from the rooftops that he should be in jail instead of earning millions of dollars, but the fact of the matter is that he's probably a turd -- and that's going to impact my enjoyment of watching Cubs games.

I can totally respect that. I'll admit I'm probably weird when it comes to sports, because I never go that deep into it when watching my team. Do well, I like you. Suck for a long time, I don't like you. That's probably [expletive] of me.

Meh, I wasn't always this way. I used to be like you. Then I got burned hard by Milton Bradley. Made me reevaluate the off-the-field aspect to these guys I had been rooting for.

If you haven't read it yet, please do check out that article I linked. It's absolutely gutwrenching.

I have as much faith in the front office as anybody, but if both Torres and Soler go to the Yankees, there's almost an 100% chance I'm going to be bummed. I will look as stupid as anyone if they get Eovaldi/Pineda and Bosio fixes them(for 1 year until they're a FA), but that seems like a reeeeeal inefficient use of resources, unless the extra assets are being flipped elsewhere, a la the Pomeranz rumor.

FA after 2017. Does nothing to adress our SP need after that.

I don't mind Soler being dealt, but I agree with you. Give me some guys with years of control. You fix Eovaldi or Pineda and then you're sending them right to FA.

Yup, I've read it, and it's truly awful.
