On the one hand, you have a very limited imagination if you can't think of anything worse than a big lead at the break. On the other hand, you suffer from an amazing case of recency bias in assuming things will always be the way they are at this very moment.

A big lead? A big lead was 10 games It wont be a big lead

Seven games is still a big lead.

6.5 after tonight and 5.5 after tomorrow night more than likely.

Jesus, people. I understand some negativity, but it isn't that bad.

I've been the biggest optimist of them all. This team is a dumpster fire. The Bucs will catch us by August 1st.

lol @ all three parts of that post.

About as bad as saying there isn't the slightest bit of concern with this team

We're probably still going to win the division handily, but this is absolutely infuriating, vexing, and nearly vomit inducing.

Oh, absolutely. There's a reason I turned the game off tonight. But I still believe this is the best team in baseball by a decent margin.

okay, I think I'm done with tonight's game. I'm still not the slightest bit concerned about the team overall, though.

6.5 game lead and they're getting worse, not better. This was a team they had a 14 game lead on.

You're already giving them a loss tomorrow, too?

The Cubs are 1-12 against non Reds teams since Jun 20th, I think the odds are highly in my favor.

You have to be pretty delusional not to be concerned about the rotation, at least.

I'm perfectly comfortable with 4/5 of the rotation.

No, there's a big middle ground between Tim's "everything will be OK" and your "they're doomed to suck for the rest of the season" nonsense, and ultimately he's still closer to being right than you are.

They're up 6.5 if they lose today.

You don't think they're a dumpster fire right now? Blind optimism is probably more fun than feeling shitty when you're watching this team.

The Pirates play the soft part of their schedule for the next 40 games. We've got Texas and the Mets.

You can go on Twitter and see me fighting with people about the state of this team if you care. But the optimism has run out. Getting ripped by the Reds and Bucs has taken it out of me.

Oh my! This team as it is playing currently is probably closer to the bottom than the top. I can't see how anyone who has been watching this team the last 3 weeks can have an optimistic outlook on this season at this point. I mean they aren't just losing some series here. The complete collapse of the rotation combined with the nightmare of a bullpen doesn't seem to inspire a lot of hope.

Once the starting pitching normalizes a bit we'll be fine, but the stretch has exposed some serious flaws (bullpen) that are going to need to be addressed.

Will we be the best team in baseball at the end of the season? I feel pretty confident about that. But right now this team is in a serious ebb phase.

Sure who doesn't love starters that give up 5-10 runs a game right? Completely comfortable.
