and Heyward continues to be almost entirely useless when he's not in the outfield.

he's lefthanded, doesn't hit lefthanded pitching very well, and was put in to face a tough lefthanded reliever.

I remember when he was on Atlanta and hitting like 15-20 HRs a year I couldn't believe he wasn't a 30-35 HR hitter. Now every HR he's hit there year has been a complete shock to me and him hitting a HR doesn't cross my mind as possible results of his ABs.

Which is unfair I know because he's better than this and is good even if he's not hitting HRs but whatever

I sense the board is starting to turn on Heyward.

He always starts slow. Until we signed him he didn't horsefeathering suck all the way through June.

He's not like Ryan Howard bad against lefties but I would really like Joe to consider not hitting him 2nd against lefties or at least really tough ones

I'm tired of waiting. He needs to [expletive] hit.

It's possible he's going to have a down year like he did after his rookie one. But he probably should bounce back to be a productive offensive guy.

Even on the home runs he had hit this year, it seems like only 1 or 2 of them have been really well hit balls, with the other ones barely clearing the fence. When we faced St. Louis in the playoffs last year, it felt like every Heyward at bat was a potential extra base hit. Now it is single or nothing, and more often than not it is nothing.

I hate the [expletive] Mets. They aren't a good team.

Oh well good teams lose to less good teams. That said when you have a 2-0 lead on an injured matz 2 batters into the game and 2 of the next 3 opposing starters are deGrom and Syndergard you definitely want to try to win this one

Believe it or not, he's got a higher OPS against lefties this year.

If they end up losing its more just disappointing because it felt like they really didn't have to lose. It wasn't bad luck or anything. It was just using a really shitty pitcher in a high leverage situation and then letting the shitty pitcher continue to pitch.
