Only because he's so classy that he doesn't want to make every opposing pitcher be hurt and cry and stuff like that.

Billy Hamilton career slash line .245/.289/.338 with a 5.8% BB rate

Billy Hamilton career slash line vs Cubs .315/.388/.492 with a 10.5% BB rate

The Cubs are responsible for issuing 20% of Hamilton's career walks (15 of 75)

In conclusion, horsefeathers this guy and start treating him like the shitty hitter he is, Cubs pitching.

Figured that'd be the lineup Maddon would go wtih (players, not necessarily order). Back-to-back lefties, figured Baez would get a pair of starts but NOT at 2B because he doesn't have the best defensive value there. And figured Szczur and Almora would each get a start in CF the next 2 days. And with Contreras not catching Lester, he's in LF so that means Bryant has to be at 3B unless you sit Heyward.

I'm guessing tomorrow, we'll see Bryant in LF, Baez at 3B, Almora in CF, and Willson behind the plate.

Joe trying to fit Contreras in the lineup, position be damned, is pretty fun (its almost Schwarber-esque). Makes me think that Contreras is staying up for good now because Joe likes his bat so much.

and because Montero is awful.

Just wait til next year when both are here. If Schwarber was as good behind the plate as even Contreras is now, you could have 2 of the top 3 hitting catchers in the league on 1 roster, but each getting 600 PAs between 1 playing LF while the other catches.

Offensively, Montero seems to have turned into 2015 Ross, and Ross into 2015 Montero.

we already hashed this out and I posted the photo of Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds peeing in a fountain and stupid Brandon told me nobody watched that movie
