Hey, the Nationals will have lost 8 in a row if they lose today; this is a cruddy run, but things happen.

I mean, nobody seriously thought they weren't ever going to struggle, right?

Based on people getting pissed because the Cubs won games but not by enough to make an impact on RD, I'm actually going to say there were some.

On the bright side, we have a 3 game set with the Reds coming up while the Cards have 4 with the Royals.

I've seen a few peeps say this. What makes the Royals such a nightmare matchup?

Nothing; they're just better than the Reds.

Haha. No, other people, too.

By a lot. They were a 1st place team until the Indians did the opposite of what the Nationals are doing.

I don't think anybody's serious about griping about the pythag so much as 'good team problems' type of stuff.

2-3 against one of the toughest pitchers in the league.

Darwin Barney was probably awesome against someone too.

Look, not trying to pile on the guy, but does he have a nagging injury or is this is ceiling? When Fowler gets back I'd rather he not bat 2nd in this lineup.

Yeah, offense is so terrible w/ him hitting 2nd all year.

This is what I hate. Offense has been largely awesome in spite of him. Now there's injuries so his mediocrity is magnified. Not saying he's awful, just counting on our RF being a run producer eventually ffs.

Very true. I was just being a smart ass with the first comment.

I don't think J-Hey is ever going to be really awesome on offense. Better than this, but not like a middle of the order guy. I just want him close to his career numbers, which makes him a nice compliment to an offense and a great all-around player with his defense.

I know I'm taking both sides of this argument, but I agree that our offense has been amazing in spite of Heyward, not because of him. His overall contributions and 'true' offensive talent ensure that he needs to be in the lineup, but you can definitely make the argument that with everyone else producing the way that they have (and are capable of), Heyward should not be getting the second most PAs on the team.

I want so many spite dongs in Cincinnati. After this week, I'm going to revel in Brennaman's despair.

Can we find one damn reliever outside of Rondon and Strop who can get people out?

I feel like I haven't seen Strop or Rondon in forever. Strop 2 innings in the last week, Rondon 1.1. Hopefully that's by design, but agreed that these guys get very tiring.

Lol the offense completely sucks, the starters have had mild hiccups and the bullpen blows

Ah well

Most of all I'm sad for Heyward who should have something like 4 more hits given the swings he's put on balls lately

wow this team is a mess right now, can't score and the bullpen is terrible. Even Strop has struggled a little recently.

Think they're second guessing the whole 'hey, let's stretch out Adam Warren at AAA because we have plenty of good relievers' thing?

I'm not actually sure that's why they did it. But Warren was sucking too. I think they did it to help him stop possibly sucking. But I might have read the situation wrong.
