It would be 6-0 if they had just taken Arrieta out for a pinch runner. #-o

I love how this comes across as genuinely upset.

Tribune didn't give two shits

I really hope Heyward doesn't have 2 injuries and the Cubs only report the less severe one again.

I'm genuinely impressed you aren't freaking out about how bad of a baserunning play that was.

[expletive] that. Dude has been a beast on defense and that [expletive] has helped make us awesome.

that includes his contribution on defense. and on the bases.

Be patient with me as I learn. So his fielding/baserunning is in the plus but his offense has been so bad that it still adds to a negative, or his defense/baserunning is also negative?

his overall contribution has been 0.4 wins so far. that's a pace of under 2 wins (which would be a below average regular). that includes what he has contributed on defense, offense, and on the bases in the form of runs. he has been worth negative runs on offense. his defense, while very good, isn't enough to make him an above average player this year when he has been a .281 wOBA hitter (or 71 wRC+...100 is average).

in fact, it's very impressive that he manages to even sniff "average regular" status with how putrid he has been offensively.

If you think that is bad, read about what condition Wrigley was in during the last years of the Wrigley ownership in the early 80s

Gotcha. I keep thinking that with the current team and the offensive guys we have, as long as he was a gold glover he would be part of the success even if he hit like me.

Im putting my money on oblique strain... It looks like he tries to hold up his arm to show that he caught it and then starts wincing and twitching and kind of grabs for his side. Hope he heals soon, that catch was RIDICULOUS.

The AP has a report that Heyward has an apparent hip injury. I don't think this is based on anything but speculation but I would think a hip injury wouldn't be too bad right? Like either it's sore/bruised and he's out a wake or two or he's the next Bo Jackson.
