I'm not really arguing the call but if the intent is to avoid a collision, you shouldn't have to have a collision to get the call . . . is Len just way off here?

Dammit...what a weird game.

 

And weird in that the Cubs haven't scored multiple runs yet.

 

and because the opposing pitcher is supposed to have 81 pitches through 3, not 5....

you mean the bummed reaction to the pop out?

No, the part where they cheered a weak fly ball that was clearly going nowhere.

Fans should be stoic, and only react to home runs, but only when they clear the fence, and not before.

I would have considered pinch-hitting for Hendricks there.

Well it is a game against the Rockies in mid-April. Gotta go all out to win.

No, the part where they cheered a weak fly ball that was clearly going nowhere.

I heard two that inning, one where Coomer got excited along with the fans but the wind knocked the ball down. And on the last out the fans let out a collective groan that they wasted a scoring opportunity.
