Gameday said Rizzo tried to bunt at the first pitch he saw. True?

yes

I think he was getting tired of seeing the 3rd baseman standing on 2nd all the time.

True. Tried beating the shift, but popped it foul. He showed bunt on the second pitch, as well.

Ah, the shift. Forgot about that....that makes more sense now.

jesus christ what a mess

stop TOOTBLANing. I heard an interview with Maddon where he's encouraging aggressive moves on the basepaths and, like, he's smarter than that, and I know he's more complicated than that. But just, don't do it.

Damn, Bryant out twice on the bases in 2 games. I'm assuming both were botched hit and runs. Yesterday was a missed sign, today Russell swung and missed at a ball. Either way Bryant has to get a better jump there.

There's 2 outs and the pitcher is on deck, that base makes a big difference.

I'm going to assume the whole "Trevor Story is good" thing is over now that I picked him up on my fantasy team

This is also the strategy i have for that Hazelbacker scrub

Yeah, that's a bit of an overreaction. And Maddon wants to run because we have a lot of fast, athletic guys that are good base runners. I get it: It's frustrating to run into outs when our offense is so loaded. But, we ran a lot last year, and had a great deal of success with it. You are just gonna have to live with a few outs on the base paths. The two Bryant caught stealings were ugly. But, it's not quite worth that reaction. Also a caught stealing isn't a TOOTBLAN: those are reserved for when you make an out like a nincompoop, not when you are just being aggressive.
