Where was Hot Doug's last year? I was in the bleachers a few times and didn't see it (also didn't look very hard)

I believe they introduced them in early July.

It's in the CF concessions, at the very least, as the Hot Doug's signs are visible from the street level.

I was pissed last year when they didn't have the buffalo chicken tater tots. The fries are a poor substitute.

What do they charge for that pretzel? I saw people eating it but I never bought one.

My wife and I demolished one at the Foo Fighters concert. It was quite good.

I'm glad to see the food continuing to get better, but they really need to do something about the beer situation.

My biggest gripe with Wrigley and with the Cubby Bear is that they won't sell me a decent IPA. Goose Island is not a real craft beer.

Goose Island is more than good enough for a baseball stadium.

Also: [expletive] IPA's.

Right on both accounts. Asking a place like Wrigley to have some 10% ABV imperial stout or double IPA available is kind of silly. 312 pale and wheat are both perfectly acceptable for a baseball game. And I'm the snobbiest of beer snobs.

Is Old Style still available?

For now:

I believe 312 pale was replaced by Green Line.

312 Pale Ale don't exist anymore:

Goose Island is riding Green Line to national distribution.

The pale ale that has been available only in Chicago and only on draft since its introduction six years ago will be getting a national rollout in bottles, cans and kegs by the end of February, Goose Island President and General Manager Ken Stout said Thursday.

The vast majority of Green Line will be made in Baldwinsville, N.Y., at an Anheuser-Busch plant that produces several other Goose Island brands. The lone exception will be the draft version of Green Line in Chicago, which will continue to be made at Goose Island’s Fulton Street brewery. (The packaged version of Green Line in Chicago will also come from Baldwinsville.)

With the expansion of Green Line, Goose Island is discontinuing its 312 Urban Pale Ale, which the brewery launched in early 2014 as an expansion of the wildly successful 312 Urban Wheat Ale.

Goose Island had considered expanding the sub-brand of 312 beers even further, possibly to include its recently released Four Star pilsner. But the brewery realized that multiple 312 beers confused customers, Stout said. Once demand for 312 Urban Pale Ale had turned tepid following a strong start, Goose Island decided to hand the 312 moniker exclusively to Urban Wheat Ale.

Murphy's has a lot of 3 Floyds, usually Zombie Dust or at least Alpha King and Gumballhead. Plus Half Acre Daisy Cutter is usually on tap.

As others have said, Goose Island Green Line is perfectly acceptable at the ballpark, not my favorite but I'll gladly drink it while at the park.

:clapping:

Well played. I know it's horsefeathers beer but there's something about having an Old Style at Wrigley that reminds me of my old man.

You guys are right that Goose Island is perfectly acceptable for a baseball stadium. That isn't really an issue. The fact that they only have Goose Island at the Cubby Bear is, to me, ridiculous. They have plenty of stuff at Sluggers, Murphy's, etc.

Also... I have been kind of phasing myself out of IPA's lately. I'm not sure what it is, but they seem to tear up my stomach pretty bad. The next day I have trouble eating.

I'm actually drinking an Old Style right now. It's $8.88 for a 12 pack, and it makes me feel really authentic. I think the product placement in Shameless and the association with the Cubs is to blame.

I see the Chicago natives on here rave about Hot Doug's. Genuinely curious as to what sets them apart from the others?

Well, in a stretch of 7 games, I think I had about 8 Dick Tidrow's. Brat with shredded gouda, plantaine chips, and an awesome dijonnaise sauce. Definitely head and shoulders about any other dog or polish I have consumed at a game.

The right field end of the center field bleachers on the side facing Murphy's bar. (Hope that wasn't too confusing)

Honestly, when I'm at a Wrigleyville bar, I'm not looking for high-end beers. A shandy is about the only deviation I'll have from the standard domestic lights.

Same. I like to pound the hell out of cheap crappy beer when I'm in baseball mode.
