I know that's Eloy next to him, but who are the other chuckleheads*?

*Yeah, yeah; "OMG, HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW WHO BLAH BLAH BLAH." Just shut up and tell me.

No idea who the old guy is but I'm guessing the younger white dude is whoever our minor league pitcher of the year is?

guessing the young dude is the minor league pitcher of the year and the other guy appears to be andrew berlin, the owner of the south bend cubs

in a weird meta way i want to make fun of you for not knowing most of us wouldn't know who the hell those guys were either (well, i'm sure the minor league forum nerds know who the pitcher is)

Soler's shirt is amazing

It says

Happy Father Day

(Te Amo Pipi) (can't make out what else)

1. I Love you so much Daddy

2. Mi Daddy is the best

3. Soler power

i just realized what it says after (Te Amo Pipi)

Clifton, if it is the MiL Pitcher of the Year

Who wants to read about the Cubs party room?

http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/17558459/chicago-cubs-stars-stay-loose-other-worldly-expectations

When those occur, and they occur often, there's a smoke machine and disco lighting and video screens hanging from the ceiling that show the head of the player of the game superimposed onto the body of some animated creature doing something or other. The player of the game gets doused with water while everyone dances and the videos play and the smoke wafts and the lights flash.

Edit: I should mention that this is a long article and a really good one with lots of good stories of individual players this year. One of those "writer follows team around for a week and writes about it" type of articles

Hope this means we are in the clear and not that McLeod goes to work under him as GM

I feel bad for Jason, but that'd be awesome for us.

Jason Mcleod will soon be a GM of a MLB team. If he wanted to leave, he probably would already be a GM. In the meantime, he gets paid a ton of money to possibly help the Cubs win their first WS in over a hundred years. I don't think there's any reason to feel bad for him.

I think McLeod is in a position where he should be able to pick his GM opportunity. He shouldn't be forced to take whatever job he can get -- he should be able to get one where he'll have a decent budget, some autonomy, and at least some talent already in place.

I just didn't see the appeal of the Twins job for him.

Maybe he's just happy with where he's at and being a GM/President of Baseball Ops isn't appealing to him?

It is. He has stated it and Jed has for him.

I kind of wonder if it's Theo or San Diego for him

He already passed on San Diego.

sure, but that doesn't mean he would never go back. there are a lot of reasons it may not have been the right move at that time. then again, win a WS with the Cubs and he may jump on the first job that pops up
