the injury is worrying but i'm not going to just assume this will be some huge deal going forward. i expect him to have an obp-heavy .900+ ops next season and be one of the better players in the league.

Yeah, he might get there differently than we want/expect but I still think he’s a ~.900 OPS player moving forward starting next year. Maybe more in line with 2017 Bryant, which is fine.

Is there any real reason to think an off-season won't clear this up?

As long as he doesn’t end up with a surgery, which they have said he doesn’t/won’t need (but Dr Nick and the medical staff really can’t be trusted so who knows) I’m assuming rest and maybe a tweak in his strength/training program is really all it will take to get MVP level KB back. Kind of like Zobrists wrist last year.

I have zero doubt that Bryant will start next season 100%. I'm slightly less sure how much of his current tiredness is preventable going forward, or how much preventing it might impact his performance. He's a really smart player so I'm confident he'll find an equilibrium that lets him be very productive.

How many shoulder injuries linger like this that don't at least need some sort of cleanup surgery? The fact that it's never really gotten better despite two DL stints, including one that lasted a month, makes me feel like it's a bit worse than just needing some rest. Is three months really going to get it healthy?

I ask these as questions, as I don't know the answers.

considering how well the training staff has handled our pitchers this year, KB is fucked

This is the thread where we talk about how permanently broken Kris Bryant is

I was thinking before clicking on this thread that we should just change "is" in the title to "used to be"

Instead of batting in the middle of the lineup, he can be our new lead off man.

Meaning he can host that segment of the TV broadcast once his baseball career is over within the next year or two?

they better schedule all night games because there is now way that drunk fool will be out of bed in time to do pregame for 1:20 starts.

hasn't theo always said "nobody is ever untouchable"? i mean, yeah, they would be open to it if it was an offer that really blew them away i guess, but this doesn't seem newsworthy unless i'm missing something

literally in that article from this week

"We've never operated with untouchables," he said. "It sends the wrong message. Given what we're trying to accomplish, it would be virtually impossible to envision the deal that would make sense to move them. I just don't believe in untouchables. Why limit yourself?"

But clickbait headlines

You're not. There's absolutely nothing in there that's news. The Cubs aren't horsefeathering trading Bryant. What a stupid article.
