Such a collision of ignorance. Security theater at sporting events, privileged participants assuming the rules don’t apply to them, overzealous cops with a hard on for action

From what I read, it really was just an insane cop.

Scotty was in an official marked PGA tour car, and he thought he was allowed through, because those cars had special access. He was driving like 5 mph.  He literally had special privilege. The cop that arrested him was not a part of the normal traffic detail and flipped the horsefeathers out.

The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. His uniform pants, which were estimated to have cost $80, "were damaged beyond repair," according to the arrest report.

This story is just hilarious.  From a police spokesman, lol

I find it pretty mind boggling that Tiger Woods, given his age and physical ailments, thinks he can be competitive in Majors by playing mostly just Majors, save a warm up tournament a few weeks before on occasion. He’s trying to compete against the world’s very best on some of the most difficult courses/greens/conditions without much “real” preparation. The second greatest golfer of all time is quite the shell of himself for awhile now.

I mean, he doesn't have much of a choice.  The dude can't walk 18 holes 4 days in a row very frequently so playing more tournaments isn't really an option.

Boring swing chatter warning -----

I had a lesson a couple weeks ago. I wish I could show you my impact position but imagine moving your hand gripped onto a club and then put them like 6" in front of your chest.

Instructor told me to (from the backswing) feel like you're throwing a ball with your right hand underneath your left arm. Tee up an 8 iron as high as possible then hit balls with it. Literally feels effortless when you make the throw at the right time. The trick is you have to do it at 50% power.

During the lesson I literally thought "this will be life changing."  Repeating that has been tougher, The 50% part is what I'm struggling with. Focus of my practice right now...

Grayson Murray took his own life yesterday, apparently after withdrawing on Friday, citing illness.

This is an interview with Peter Malnati, who played with him Thursday and Friday...and it's a tough watch.

I played Spyglass Hill and the greens were like that. Flag on one hole was on a false front. I was a two foot putt  away from the cup across the slope. I gave it a bit of an angle to account for the slope, and the ball went around the hole on the top side and proceeded to roll down the green and about 30 feet off the green. I literally tapped the putt with the power to roll not much more than 2 feet. It rolled an easy 40-45 feet. If you aren't below the hole on your approach, you are SOL.

Not at all. Other than the deer that practically walk right up to you as they eat the delicious fairway rough, it was my least favorite course of the 4 we played over 3 days in Monterey. We played Pebble Beach the first day we got there. Woke up the next morning and played Spanish Bay (stayed at Spanish Bay Resort), then came back to the room, showered in the most awesome shower of all time. Was refreshed to play Del Monte. Then played Spyglass Hill the next morning. Most golf I've ever played in a 36 hour span. Spanish Bay was way better than Spyglass, IMO. It was a dream trip, though. I think Del Monte is the oldest course in continuous operation west of the Mississippi. Built in 1896.

also, the rough is barely an issue, there's no water, fairways are super wide. I'm fine with making these dudes have to put their approach shot in the perfect spot given that all they do nowadays is go driver/wedge on every hole.
