I'm glad and I hoped for this when Nike took over MLB jerseys. I know I'm probably in the minority but I welcome some variety in the Cubs jerseys.

I'm so sick of the dark blue pajamas and the grays.

I also think these unis are pretty good

I’ve been saying the dodgers are dirty for years how deep does the rot go???

I mean on one hand, Bauer is def cheating and should be punished. On the other, he pretty much called this out back in 2018 and mlb did nothing and then said "ok I'm going you do it too and I'm going to win the cy young" and he did. So like... He's doing exactly what he set out to do which was even out the playing field and take away advantages from others who are also cheating?

On a third hand, MLB hammering Bauer while ignoring every other pitcher is by far the funniest outcome and the one we should actively root for.

Dexter tore his ACL, could be a career ender at this point.

Might as well bring him back to the Cubs next year on a cheap deal. If the team is gonna suck, at least do it with guys we like.

I wish I knew how to link the video of Acuna beating out a routine grounder to SS. He's worth 1 WAR after just 9 games.

The one thing keeping him from being NL Mike Trout was contact, and early on his K rate is down to 15%. He's incredible.

Those Braves uniforms are amazing.

Ben Lindbergh has been pretty compelling in laying this out as the best way to fix the strikeout problem. So even if that's wrong, it's certainly worth the experiment.

Moving the mound back certainly strikes me as less objectionable than banning shifts and all the other inane rule changes or proposals of the last couple of years.

Apparently the Atlantic League will also experiment with the Len Kasper-approved tying of the DH to the starting pitcher. That's interesting.

Damn, I thought that was my idea. I guess Len had it first.

I'm cool with moving the mound back and restricting shifts.

Its really pouring salt in the wounds when your pitcher gets touched up early. Im not a fan of this one much.

I'm intrigued by the idea, but the drawbacks may be too large to overcome. If a pitcher gets injured in the first inning, now it's a double-whammy because the team loses both their starting pitcher and DH. They could add a provision to exclude for injuries, but that still doesn't help when a pitcher is getting shelled early in the game. If that team loses their DH, they have also lost some of their ability to potentially score runs and get back into the game, which makes for a less exciting game overall.

You can still pinch hit for a pitcher folks. I would be shocked if whatever criteria for 'SP getting shelled' had significantly different numbers in terms of comebacks between AL and NL anyway. Yes you will have to be mindful of who is in the DH spot, that is a feature in valuing defensive capability and not a bug. It also promotes SP durability and kills off things like the opener that devalue SP and would otherwise turn pitchers into NFL running backs, which indirectly promotes more balls in play/fewer Ks as well.

The shift sucks too and should be banned, or at least curtailed. 3B/SS need to stay on 3B side of 2B, 2B/1B need to stay on 1B side of 2B and OF can’t come in past a point to avoid still doing a 3 infielder thing. It’s not that hard to legislate and would lead to more hits/action.

I hate not allowing shifts. Unrelated to the main reason that I hate banning the shift, heavy shifting should incentivize batters to just put the ball in play by altering their approach. That should also reduce true outcomes.
