Looking like Tim Anderson blew out his achilles, at least in the opinion of the head of thoracic surgery at Tufts

So they’re claiming sprained ankle but I’ll be shocked if that’s what it is. It didn’t look like he turned his ankle at all on the play. Plus he was down on the ground and didn’t put any pressure on it at all when being helped off.

I hope they’re right that it’s an ankle sprain but that looks bad.

eloy has been butt again since that Wrigley dinger

He went yard again last night for #13. Only 221 PA’s, .786 OPS. Not bad for a cost controlled 22 yo.

On pace for a little less than 1 whole WAR if given 550-600 PAs, not bad at all!

White Sox are calling up Cease, he’s starting Wednesday. His AAA numbers seem pretty mediocre and he still seems like a guy who’s more likely to end up in the pen, but I’m interested to see how he does.

he is on pace for like a 1 win season

eloy could be great, it's just stupid that you keep sniffing his jock when his major league time has not been positive for him so far

He's on pace for about the same season as Kyle Schwarber this year, just 4 years younger.

So he'll be worse than Schwarber was when HE was 4 years younger.

Way to think that burn through, champ.

Schwarber had a good rookie season and World Series but it's hard to sit here and pretend like he's the guy we thought he'd be. If Eloy has the same career path as Schwarber after year 1, he'd be considered a major failure too.

so is your point that schwarber is bad or that eloy is good?

in any case, you are bad

I think Eloy's age 22 season is a wash. As long as he shows constant improvement and develops, which he has; it'll be a successful season for him and the White Sox. It's just funny seeing people pretend Eloy is bad right now when he's putting up the same numbers as Schwarber's age 26 season. Yet everyone seems to defend Schwarber despite the fact that's appearing more and more like he's an average MLB player.

What has he shown improvements on? He’s a disaster in the OF and K’ing 30% of the time and not walking that much or hitting for average? I think everyone here would admit Schwarber is having just an average, okay year (it’s a good thing we really only need him to be like our 5th best player and we can get away with him being this, however annoying it is).

Eloy is showing that all the worries about him are true and it’s going to be hard to be that super star so many were saying. He probably is just a Schwarber type value player in the end (they’ll get there differently). Which is fine but the White Sox don’t have a KB, Rizzo, Willy or Javy to get away with that outcome from him. They need stars to really build something, him turning in to a 2-4 win Schwarber like player isn’t getting them to where they want to be.

Since May 30th, Eloy is slashing .308/.366/.626/.993 with 8 HR's in a pretty nice 90 at-bat sample size. In the 116 AB's before this, he was slashing .207/.258/.379/.637 with 6 HR's. It's safe to say he's starting to figure something out.

Eh he’s still striking out a lot (still almost 30%) and the batted ball data hasn’t changed a ton. His GB rate has gone up since then and FB/LD rate gone down, but he is hitting the ball harder. That’s certainly a nice slash line but it’s probably not overly sustainable.
