According to Woj, Gasol and Snell for Koufos, McLemore, and a lowering of the 1-10 pick protection is being offered to Chicago. If so, surely Garpax takes it, right?

Hinrich to Atlanta for a future 2nd rounder. Gasol stays. FFS, get rid of this FO.

That Sac deal must not have been on the table or there must have been more to it. I can't believe they wouldn't take that.

It definitely sounds like we weren't interested I guess there's a chance that the Kings couldn't come to an agreement with Philly to release the pick completely.

All reports were that Sac was pushing the deal until the last minute. It was GarPax that nixed it.

Aldridge did claim that that deal was fiction that was leaked by one side...but Mannix and Woj stayed pretty adamant that it was coming from both ends.

I have absolutely no idea what the Bulls are doing. Can anyone even begin to understand the Bulls short and long term strategy here? I am completely perplexed.

They seem to be perfectly content being in NBA hell for the foreseeable future. That's the only explanation I can come up with.

It makes no sense to me. Resigning Gasol for $20m a year or whatever is being rumored makes no sense to me. As does keeping Gasol in a lost season and not getting anything for him. I don't care if its for a future fringe rotation player or a underperforming young player with upside like MacLemore just get something.

A FO that was known for stockpiling assets and planning well in advance is now running a shitty team with few assets into the ground.

Well, you could say that about anything they do, since they will be in NBA hell for as long as lebron james is lebron james and the warriors exist.

but yeah, if they passed on that deal, i am not pleased

Front office believes strongly that part of reason why players will want to play in CHI is because Bulls have made playoffs 7 yrs in a row.

If Pau chose to spend the twilight of his career on a middling Bulls team.....

Edit: sort of beaten

Even if this is the plan, why not trade him now and then sign him again in the offseason?

I'm guessing his cap hold is low, so bird rights basically. They can sign another FA and then Pau if he wanted to sign here.

I thought he wanted more money than they could offer with the early bird rights. I don't want him back either way.
