I've stopped paying attention the last 10 months- we getting that Sacramento pick?

Suprisingly still in play although fairly unlikely. They lost last night so that hurts. I cannot see the Kings letting that pick fall into our hands.

So the Bulls are technically still alive for the playoffs. Their next game is against the Cavs. If they lose its official.

So that means LeBron would have eliminated the Bulls from the playoffs for the 4th time in the last 6 years.

I know what you're saying here, but to include elimination from playoff contention in the same category as losing a playoff series is weird.

In a playoff series, Lebron had something to do with every game. In this case, it's a fluke of the schedule.

Except the Bulls get eliminated tonight if Indiana wins anyway.

I miss Thibs

I'm a bit of a "the Bulls were horsefeathering stupid to fire Thibs" zealot, so I'm trying to limit the posts on that topic

I miss del negro over this guy. I have to say hoiberg is the worst thing I've ever had to experience.

were you not a fan in the cartwright or floyd eras?

Firing Thibs was dumb, but theres a bigger roster issue to take care of I think.

Either start tanking or lining up contracts for the next big UFA. Let Hoiberg captain the Titanic until then.

I'll admit I was fine with the coaching change as the Thibs situation with the team had grown stale and seemingly a bit contentious as it was. Obviously, it hasn't gotten any better in that regard.

I'm far more mad about what they did at the trade deadline. Obviously, hindsight only make it look worse, but it already looked like a terrible WTF? decision at the time to not trade Gasol. Stuff like that that completely defies logic makes me more mad.

I'm ready for GarPax to be gone. I don't trust them to do anything at this point. Sign FA's, draft picks, hire/fire coaches...none of it. That's where it's gotta start for me.

the thing is they've had some pretty good hits in the middle and back end of the draft. i know there've been some busts too but overall i can't really complain with that end of it.

they did a good job putting together decent teams over the years (even the high end of that took the insane luck that got them rose), but in the nba you just aren't going to contend unless you get insanely lucky and land a real legit superstar. especially in a capped league where the best of the best are capped at way less than they deserve (not that i necessarily trust that the bulls would win an uncapped bidding war, but when miami or cleveland can offer the best player in the league the same amount we can, it's definitely not helping us).

the nba/basketball sucks to build teams in. i don't even know how you fix this. tank to get what? even then you have to be lucky enough to get a top pick in a year with an actual superstar at the top of the draft. if you just get a good player there, you max out at what we've been for the past few years. you need a lebron. or you need to luck into someone becoming steph curry. without stuff like that going just right, you really aren't going to contend for a title, with the exception of what the spurs have managed to do, i guess, but even they had duncan be a big part of their run over the years.

i'm not saying garpax have done an exceptionally good job and haven't fucked up a lot of stuff, i'm just not sure how you actually can set out to build an nba championship contender without having a ton of luck.

feel free to pick apart my stream of consciousness ramblings/rant

also, all that said, i would have no problem with a garpax firing (not that i think there's any way reinsdorf does it).

I realize they've had some hits and successes, but I think the bad outweighs the good. Sometimes it's just time to start fresh in an organization, and I think we've reached that time here. I recognize the difficulty of fixing this. I just want a new braintrust to do it.

Yeah, it's just time for someone different. GarPax certainly weren't the worst front office, but they've run their course and it's time for someone new/a new approach.

Also don't miss Thibs at all; Hoiberg is horrible, but Thibs was done.

I agree with pretty much every word David posted and it's a big reason I just can't be bothered to watch the Bulls much - there's just no point when you know for a fact you can't make a deep run.

I don't really blame the NBA for it, it's just the nature of basketball.

Hey maybe they can beat the odds and Indiana lose out while they win out.

*checks pacers schedule and sees Brooklyn, New York and Milwaukee*

Ok horsefeathers that

Dropping the game versus Detroit last week really was the dagger. Sucks, because I really enjoy watching Bulls playoff basketball.

What is Felicio? Is he a rotational player?
