Bulls 2015-16 Regular Season Thread 2.0

I think the Bulls are favorites against anyone outside of Cleveland in the East. But I think I'd have a hard time betting on them making the ECF, even if Cleveland is on the other side. I'd love to see them add a wing, that'd probably change my mind a bit. But I'll be surprised if they make a move.

I think the Bulls could beat one of those teams in the playoffs, but not two of them to get to Miami if the Bulls get a high enough seed.

I would love to see this Derrick Rose with JB, Pau, Taj, and a healthy Dunleavy. Snell, McDermott, and E'Twan each have too many limitations to play 20+ minutes consistently.

That sequence where Jimmy scored, then stole it, had a breakaway layup and then stole it again and had another breakaway layup was awesome.

 

Based on watching only 1 Lakers game, Russell looks like a disaster.

One of the strangest things about this Bulls team is that they have almost no supporting cast in place, which over the past decade or so has been a consistent strength. When Derrick, Jimmy and Pau are pulling their weight they can win many games, but if one or two of them are off and you have to rely on Taj, Niko, Snell, McDermott and/or Moore to produce its a gamble every time.

I admit that I've not watched a whole lot of the Bulls this season, but from what I've read and heard...Hoiberg doesn't seem to be a fit.

i havent watched a ton either but it seems to me like he doesn't have the pieces needed to run "Hoiball". I think assuming GarPax survives this season they will start building the team to fit his style.

Besides Rose being a mess, the biggest knock against the team has to be McDermott and Mirotic both not progressing at all.

I wonder what the real chances are that they'd move on from GarPax? They seem pretty damn bulletproof. But I do think it's time to make a change there.

He's been very underwhelming in regards to what people expected him to be, and, quite frankly, what they needed him to be. He hasn't really regressed, but he hasn't improved at all on what he showed last year. Last year was supposed to be a stepping off point to what he could be, not what he actually is.

Don't get me wrong, I also think his performance has been disappointing. I just think a major part of that has been Hoiberg, his rotations and the role he has asked Niko to play in the offense. The top Bulls lineup (Net Points, >100 min) has Niko at the 4. Put him at the 3 and other teams are guarding him with smaller, faster guys, which would be fine if Hoiberg would let him post-up more, but with Taj and Pau at the 4 and 5 he's not getting many opportunities to do that. So you end up with him just disappearing for large stretches.

My guess is that when Rose enters FA, a new GM will be with the Bulls
