How many people knew that revenge porn was a crime before hearing about this case?

A lot of people. It's been in the news quite a bit for the past couple years.

It has?

Uh, yeah.

There was a kid at Rutgers that killed himself after his roommate showed everybody video of him partaking in "gay activities" and that roommate was prosecuted under what basically turned into revenge porn type laws. That was back in 2010 and drew a lot of national news attention. There's been numerous websites that have been successfully shut down because of the practice, and a few Joe Francis type scumbags that have been prosecuted. I've seen headlines about cases for at least a couple years, dating back to the initial creating of the laws the specifically address the issue..

FYI, here's a story on a number of cases in England from last fall:

http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/oct/11/revenge-porn-175-cases-reported-to-police-in-six-months

Nearly 200 cases of revenge porn have been reported to police in the past six months by victims as young as 12, according to the largest collection of official figures to date.

The figures, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, disclose for the first time the number of revenge porn cases being reported since a new law was passed following a spate of cases in which vengeful former lovers shared intimate images online.

I mean, I really have to question what kind of weirdo wouldn't assume revenge porn was a crime from the outset.

I'm not defending or condoning his actions. From the police report, he sent the naked pics/ video of the woman to the woman. The report made no mention of him sending it to anyone else. I could see where he might not realize that it was a crime to send the pictures/ video to the person that is in the pictures/ video.

None of that changes the duechebaggery of the act so much as the ignorance of the crime. He was being a total dick but probably didn't realize that he was committing a felony by doing so.

The Hawks ought to release him immediately. The evidence that he did it is pretty straightforward and even if he some beats the rap the Blackhawks don't have to adhere to the standards of a court of law.

lmao

I almost think this puts the Hawks in a bad position. It doesn't clear his name at all, but the punish won't be all that severe, so the Hawks will have to welcome him back at some point I would think.

Apparently Crawford has vertigo.

That doesn't sound good.

They made it sound on the Score this morning that he might not even be back by the time the playoffs start

Yeah Q has been saying things like "he could be back by the start of the playoffs". Nothing definite. Could we win a cup with Darling and a deep defensive group? Yes. With 1.5 solid pairings? No way.

I keep seeing it as intentional and unintentional each time I look. Either way it's egregiously irresponsible use of his stick and probably intentional considering my bias.

Yeah agree on the irresponsible part. He was turning that way to get up and had to swing that arm around but stick didn't need to be that high.

He's automatically suspended one game I think.
