I know they are just in coast to playoffs mode but 6-8-1 since their winning streak ended. Hopefully Ladd will give us a boost as I want to have as much home ice as possible.

Ladd is a nice addition. They still need another top 4 defenseman though. Gustafson looked better last night than he had recently. I wonder if the Hawks would include TVR in a detail for a defenseman that was more than a rental. TVR is young and on a rebuilding team could still help and they could sell their fan base on his potential to improve. Not sure who that might be but if the Canucks want a young D man I'd rather they gave them TVR, a forward prospect and a pick than a package including Polkka.

This has been an entertaining game so far. For "4 cups in 7 years" sake I'd rather see someone shittier but for pure entertainment sake a Caps/Hawks SCF would be awesome.

So even up until last season I would always see fans of opposing teams (except like Stl and Det) say things like "the Hawks are so damn good but they are hard to hate".

 

With the 3rd Cup, one of our 2 best players being investigated for rape, combined with the the team still being a cup favorite, salary cap be dammed, I see a breaking point hit and now whenever I read an opposing blog or Twitter all I see is people saying how much they hate the Hawks.

 

Other than the Kane situation which is still rough for me to reconcile, I completely embrace the hatred and love that we are the team other fans dream at night about beating.

it's funny that I personally like the Hawks more now than I did when we were division rivals. I enjoy watching them play and usually cheer for them when they play Eastern Conference teams. But in my life the Wings and the Hawks were only both serious cup contenders a few yrs. I have much larger disdain for Colorado and Anaheim than I do the Hawks.

 

I know my feelings are rare among Wings fans
