Phil Rogers says the Rays / Cubs discussion has involved Szczur, Vogelbach and Christian Villanueva as well as Javy Baez. Is there any chance they would take the first three for one of their relievers? Would free up 40 man roster space and help our bullpen out.

Those first 3 might be enough for a rehabbing Cobb? I'd be surprised if that's enough for McGee or Odorizzi

I'd be awful surprised if Szczur/Vogelbach/Villanueva could get one of their arms that have been discussed. When healthy, Cobb might be better than Odorizzi, so it seems tough/unlikely that they would sell that low on Cobb, and pen arms are costly in FA right now, so late inning pen arms seem likely to be costly in the trade market as well, enough so that quantity likely wouldn't matter as much. I guess it's not impossible if their FO somehow loved those guys, but I'd be fairly surprised if that motley crew of guys could get it done.

Agree, he seems like a very Cardinals move too. Also seems we alway face Cargo right when he's coming off of an injury and he goes on one of his hot streaks

If they wanted those first three just as a gesture of goodwill, it wouldn't be terrible value.

Anything of use in return for that trio would be immense. Villanueva and Vogelbach could have productive big league careers. But it won't be with us. As for Szczur; remember when Keith Law comped him to Juan Pierre and it was taken as a bad thing?
