Anybody else notice that Justin Upton's name has yet to come up, like at all?

 

Just today he was linked to the Angels, but he's likely waiting for a domino like Heyward to fall.

Yeah same with Cespedes, I think they wait for Heyward to go as well. I think 1 ends up with the Angels and 1 ends up with the Giants.

I'm wondering if they aren't going to freak a bit with all these other moves and go all in for Cueto. Not that that would necessarily be a terrible thing, just could see them wanting to make a splash if they miss out on Price/Heyward/etc.

It is a nice quote. I don't think anyone is arguing about adding depth. It is how to add that depth that is causing disagreement.

 

 

I think it's more "what counts as depth." Trevor Cahill as next man up in your rotation isn't depth, it's the problem you're trying to avoid with depth.

True. But we made an offer for Price too. One that we probably knew up front had no chance of him accepting.

Pretty sure he's never been good in CF or at least the plus defender there that he is in LF/RF.

He's getting older. And I think there may even be an article or two out there dispelling how great his D was that one year anyway.

You might be frustrated with how expensive that cheap platoon could be.

Just seems weird he'd go from being Heyward to Jim Edmonds circa 2008 in just a couple of years, even with the position change.
