Yea I really don't get the Stella hate. The double switching is a little peculiar, but he's basically exactly what you expect a bench guy to be.

His neck is too long and his shoulders are too narrow, that's enough. He looks like the bastard child of Don Mattingly and Lindsay Lohan.

I'm not giving up hope.

Nothing can stop the Cubs from winning this series. Not that bigot who now magically hits home runs in nearly every at bat. Not their stable of waifish, long-haired, goober pitchers. Not even their manager who talks like a 1930's jockey.

I don't think we've spent nearly enough time talking about how [expletive] weird Terry Collins is.

He looks like the bastard child of Jed Hoyer and a jersey shore whore.

I love Soler batting second and Schwarber further down, but I'd switch Rizzo and Schwarbs

I think I agree with you (I'm assuming/hoping we will get Matz out of the game relatively early), though obviously it makes little difference.

Soler is the best guy in the playoffs at getting on base. Schwarbs has name recognition because of his 5 hrs. I'd put him behind Bryant and force them to pitch to KB. Rizzo provides power further down the lineup.

Also, if I'm JM, I'm telling Fowler to ambush the first pitch of the game. The Mets pitchers have consistently started the game (and inning) with a fb strike. Drill the bastard, and if you don't make an out or don't make it on base, start to prolong the ab as long as possible.

I keep having "what if we pull this out" fantasies, which probably won't end well but I can't help it.

If we win a game or two at least we'll shut some people up in the media.

Win or lose, entering this season I expected the Cubs to be playoff contenders, but maybe not World Series caliber. The fact that they have made it this far in the playoffs surpassed my expectations. I knew they would be good, but not THIS good. Next season, whether they go into it with or without a World Series championship to their credit, they will be an improved team. A team that will be better off to start the season than the 97 win team they were this year. That excites me, and it should terrify the rest of the league.

he's fine against lefties, but we have better options there so he sits

Murphy's had consistent .323 wOBA for 3-4 years now and TLS was at .319 this year in an albeit limited sample

it's just a kind of funny thing

I have "what if I don't pull out" fantasies all the time, and that probably won't end well but I can't help it.

Depends on how you figure sobriety into your "end well" analysis or not.
